Butters tosses Huck under the bus

RE: Butters tosses Huck under the bus

He'll finish with more wins than any state coach. I assure you if State was the kind of program that could attract the kind of coach that Roy is you envious people would ne singing a different tune. Since you could never in a million years get that caliber of a coach then just settle for insulting him.

So what?

The chinaman is not the issue here man.

And we wouldn't be singing a different tune. We are generally more critical of our own coaches than anyone else because dingbats like you think we should be happy settling for mediocrity.

I'm not insulting Roy, I'm merely pointing out his pros and cons as a coach. He's an incredible recruiter and can assemble great talent. PRO.

He can't coach defense, manage late game situations, or prepare his team to be effective consistently in the half-court offense. When they aren't running up and down the court with an elite pointguard, his teams suck. Or do you not remember that NIT season a few years ago?

He's a terrible x's/o's man and a mediocre motivator. Which, really, is mainly what coaching is all about.

Your average Tarheel graduate is well aware of these things. Why aren't you?

My point is that a self hating state fan should mind his own business. You got your own problems like having a sh!tty basketball program in general. UNC has won plenty of tough hard fought come from behind victories that required plenty of in game coaching. Laughable and pathetic that some Monday morning quarterback is talking x's and o's with Roy. You sir aren't nearly as astute as you think you are.

Shep owns you. You still don't get it, but it is not surprising.

Own me because he is arguing for your point? I don't think so toolbag. Some fatazz sitting in a recliner can't teach Roy a thing. Wonder how many NT's shepherd has won?

Seems like the UNC alum ^^^ would disagree with you.

And so too it would seem, current UNC student-athlete Kendall Marshall.

(Or did you not bother to read the article?)

And I'm not Monday quarterbacking anything. Get your lame cliches right. I haven't said Roy should do this or that or antying else. I didn't say what he did wrong against Duke or that he should have done it differently.

All I'm saying is the brother can't coach. And we have 20 years of evidence at two schools to prove that. Again, as the UNC alum above agrees.

And I would mind my own business if you idjits would bother tending to yours. I will forget more about ACC basketball in the next week than you will ever know in your lifetime.

So suck it.

Austin Rivers.

To say Roy can't coach is just foolish. To say he is the greatest is also foolish. You don't win championships and 80% of your games unless you can coach.
No doubt this a down year for Carolina........what does that really say?

Shep thinks that he ownes every one. He is truly a legend in his own mind :)

Legend in his own tiny little mind. Poor guy I wish I knew as much about basketball as he does. If he was such an expert he'd cheer for a team that could win something.

RE: Butters tosses Huck under the bus

Coach Sid Lowe or Matt D would've had the 2010 UNC team in the big dance. This is great, to finally hear it from the guys on his team. Roy needs a raise and an extension. He already has a losing record to Duke. Let's keep this going!

Wrong. Sid and Matt coundn't coach a high school team. Matt was way over his head. Sid was too. Sid didn't have the discipline to coach these young punks. Matt didn't slow down enough to smell the roses that got him there. UNC hired the man from Kansas when Dean had his ability to hire and fire. Roy wins with talent.

RE: Butters tosses Huck under the bus

7 final 4's, 2 NC's, Hall of fame coach, 2 AP coach of the year awards, .798 win % ( better than K's) 3rd all time in the NCAA. Yep, than man knows nothing about coaching.

gifts from being in the right place and right time. The man has coached at Kansas and UNC, #2 and #3 respectively in all-time wins.

They weren't gifts. 2 great bball programs chose him to continue their winning traditions because they knew he could. Tells me that he can coach and both scools knew it.
