+1. Actually UNC has very solid conservative roots. Even the liberal leaning N&O actually wrote an article to that affect just a few weeks ago. Most of the Presidents of the university were staunch conservatives just as an example.
Yeah, but it still doesn't matter. Rush showed who he really is with three days of nasty, horrific, name calling tirades about a young woman who spoke eloquently about what she believed was an unfair insurance policy. Besides, I'm sure Rush's insurance pays for his Viagra!
This is a sports forum, not a place to discuss politics or social issues. And, the fact that UNC football and basketball happen to be broadcast on the same station as Rush's show is not an endorsement of Rush's mouth.
The way Rush is losing sponsors (35 and counting I think I heard on the news) he may not be around much longer. Money for the show has to come from somewhere.
NO insurance I know of pays for Viagara. But, I think we, the tax payers, SHOULD pay for everyone's recreational activities. My wife and I enjoy vacationing in the Caribbean. We haven't been down in over a year due to our economic situation. We want to go and I think I have the RIGHT to have it paid for by the rest of YOU. Just like Ms. Fluke. (rolls eyes)

And to add to that as an example you hear about THE NEW BLACK PANTHER PARTY from time to time in the media, but they have absolutely ZERO connection with the original Black Panther Party. It's less than 50 members at last check and how a small group of nutjobs can get the airtime they get is absolutely insane. I know a ton of Tar Heel fans from Chapel Hill that are conservative. Young folks have the luxury of being ultra liberal because they have no life experience and the pain of seeing someone make it for free on your hard earned work has not smacked them in the face. As far as the professors who have to uber liberal thinking that cannot exist in normal society, TENURE has caused some of them to be able to have a job when they could not get one on the outside and keep the job no matter what they say or do. As I said before, some of them have the luxury of living a protected fantasy world of idealism instead of the realistic world the rest of us have to deal with. Apparently a blogger, www.BlueNC.org has emailed Chancellor Thorp asking him to rethink the relationship with WRDU. Thorp did not respond.
The article goes on to say Rick Steinbacher, an asst AD at UNC, explained that Tar Heel Sports Properties owns and operates the Tar Heel Sports Network as an independent contractor for UNC. Steinbacher issued a statement saying the university neither controls nor endorses the regular programming of WRDU. Makes perfect sense to me.
Limbaugh's 3 days of comments about Ms. Fluke were inexcusable, but they have nothing to do with UNC athletic broadcasts.
