Marshall may play Friday

RE: Marshall may play Friday

Wasn't UNC predicted to win the ACC title?
- Posted by jrj6950

Which they did. They were not predicted to win the tournament.
- Posted by heelman73

The team that wins the regular season title, is the same team that is projected to win the ACC tournament. Thats common sense.
- Posted by jrj6950

But as you dookies are so quick to point out, there is no such thing as a regular season championship.
- Posted by The1

Please show me where I have said that.

RE: Marshall may play Friday

Another 12+ page thread has turned to personal attacks -- all because people the ABCers are scared that Kendall Marshall might play, and the Tar Heels might keep winning.

Pathetic how their fear is turned to rage.
- Posted by The White Phantom

I could care less if you guys kept winning, what I do have concern about is risking the future of an NBA prospect for rewards right now.
- Posted by jrj6950

Get outta here with that faux concern for Kendall...your concern is that UNC not continue to embarrass your school by advancing...

Go deny that in your own forum
- Posted by wmarti

Given Roy's lack of concern for his players (Lost colony in Tallahassee), someone has to look out for their well-being.

Wow.
Either you are attempting to pad your wralsportfan.com post count.
Or.
Your need to deflect has reached an all-time high.

You are entitled to believe what you will, but it doesn't change the fact I wouldn't try to get immediate benefit from a player in return for risking their future in the NBA.

I feel sorry for you if you don't feel that same way.

Not sure I have ever seen a Duke fan post that.

The one thing I have always said, right or wrong, is that the OFFICIAL ACC Champion is the team that wins the tourney.

That is not an opinion but a fact.

Wrong. The pre-season predictions are only for how teams will end the regular season.
- Posted by heelman73

Stop being dumb. You win the ACC regular season title, you are the favorite to win the tourney, and if you say so otherwise you are just being a liar.

Do you have the rules sheet or a link that proves what you are saying is true.

Preseason #1, Preseason favorite for NC. UNC Tar Heels. Can they live up to the expectations and not have an epic choke?

Only time will tell.

From the ACC's own media archives:

Oct. 19, 2011
2011 ACC Operation Basketball Site

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Fronted by the unanimous choice for Player of the Year, the North Carolina is the media's nearly unanimous pick to win the Atlantic Coast Conference in 2011-12.

While this seems to suggest the season's course is already determined, consider this: Last year, the lone dissenter was the only psychic.

Duke was the choice of every voter save one in October of 2010. That fellow picked the Tar Heels, who went on to claim the regular season. (The Devils prevailed in the ACC Tournament.)

Note: only one got it right - the fellow who picked the Tar Heels to win the regular season title. Also note that the team who prevailed in the tournament got only a parenthetical mention. I know most of you dookies are stupid when it comes to things like this, but even you should be able to figure this one out.

Look, no one wants him to risk his NBA future...i wouldn't wish that on a Duke player or anyone else...but the point is...

If the doctors (that is UNC team docs) say that he can play with no risk of further injury...which is what they seem to be indicating...are we wrong for wanting to have our best shot at winning on the floor?

Not to mention that I'm all tore up about you feeling sorry for me

I dont see TITLE after regular season in your post. This is what I see "That fellow picked the Tar Heels, who went on to claim the regular season." No Title in that " " phrase. You seem to have inserted that word.

I highly doubt they will come out and say that there is NO risk of further injuring it. The kid just went under the knife Friday.
