April 3rd: Deadline to submit you name for a formal evaluation from the NBA Undergraduate Advisory Committee...valuable to underclassmen as they are no longer able to participate in pre-draft workouts. I.E., there is no longer such a thing as "testing the waters." The aforementioned committee is made up of General Managers, Assistant General Managers, VP's of Player Personnel and other team executives who will provide their perspective as to a players draft range. Note that applying for an evaluation DOES NOT constitute declaring for the NBA Draft.
April 10: This is the NCAA's rule and is not a deadline to enter the draft -- it is a return to college deadline.
Basically, a player can enter the draft after April 10 and before April 29...but not declaring intentions to stay by April 10 means he forfeits any remaining college eligibility.
For example, McAdoo could tell Roy he is going to stay by April 10 and for the time being, remain college eligible -- but change his mind before April 29th.

Honestly, I thought that was a given, but we were told yesterday that the decision has not been made. The deadline is April 3rd to get your paperwork into the NBA and let them know you're testing the waters. If that happens players will get feedback from about 20 different pro scouts/GMs and others around NBA programs to let them know their draft status, where they think they'll land, and give honest feedback about their skill set.
"I'm not sure (Calvin) will even do it. It's a lot of paperwork for only a real small amount of time." the source close to Leslie told us. "Since it moved the date back to April 10th they really took away a lot of evaluation time and you can only do this one time, so I don't know if it's even going to happen."
Leslie and his parents will have to have their paperwork done by today and declare by tomorrow if they're going to make this move, so we'll have an idea on what Leslie future will hold sooner rather than later.
If Leslie does declare then he will be looking for a guarantee from a team in the first round (he is currently being listed as a high 2nd round pick in most NBA Mock Drafts.) Without that, he'd surely return to NC State. We'll have a lot more about Leslie in the coming days.

TBK was right. Its not called 'testing the waters' anymore but you can still submit your formal evaluation to the NBA by April 3rd which is by a new definition, testing the waters. Its not what it used to be but its all they have now. And Sports Nutz where are you getting YOUR information from, CJ is no where near the top 20 of any draft mock. Right now most have him as a 2nd round pick, some don't have him drafted at all and I've seen on having him going 26th. But the point is that CJ hasn't filled out his paperwork for his evaluation and if he doesn't do that by tomorrow then he isn't leaving. I don't know how I can say it more clear than that.
Obviously you are sitting there praying he goes, you know that UNC has no chance of beating state next year with CJ leslie on the team. Especially if McAdoo leaves. That means Brice Johnson and Desmond Hubert will be starting against CJ Leslie and Richard Howell. Talk about getting dominated on the block.

Don't worry, you spend more than your fair share of time "trolling" on States board. That's where you obsessed about RW for months, why didn't you obsess on uncs board? I'm commenting on something that involves the school I went to and am a fan of, did you want this convo only between unc fans?
Now I get it! "bovine board" that's because State has a vet school and animal science department. niiiiiiiiice one...not at all played out
