Why has the UNC board gone silent?

RE: Why has the UNC board gone silent?

I think missing out on Oriakhi hurt this fanbase badly. Let's not sugar coat it, UNC fans only care about basketball. When their football team is on probation, they have no problem admitting that.

Now they are thinking about next year. Their freshman PG recruit has a broken foot and will be out until June at the earliest (they would be smart to wait even later, but this is the same fanbase that expected Marshall to play with a broken wrist, so you can assume they will want him rushed him back). This means he'll be behind the 8ball as far as conditioning, team drills, offensive repetition, strength training, etc.

They have a hole the size of Texas at center. They know that Mason Plumlee is back at Duke, Howell is solid at State, Reggie Johnson and Alex Lin are a couple of other names that UNC will have to contend with in the paint in 2012-13.

Traditionally, PG and Center have been the most important positions at UNC. Think Lawson/Hansbrough or Felton/May. Next year will be a rebuilding year, for sure. UNC will lack true depth, especially at PG. Dexter and McDonald both come back from torn ACL's, but they may never have the same burst and athleticism that they once had.

And the icing on the cake-- 2010 was the last time Roy had a rebuilding year. UNC lost to Dayton in the NIT after a humiliating 82-50 loss to Duke in the regular season finale. I think UNC fans are remembering that year, looking at the holes in their roster, and thinking........ OH SH*T!

Hmmm...I don't feel this at all or think this. Not too worried about Basketball, yes Paige has a stress fracture similar to what Lawson had so it will heal and all will be good. Love football and love Fedora, maybe you are hoping football won't be important. Well it is and it's going to be great. Oriahki? It was a long shot to start with and with McAdoo, not needed. Don't you worry about the Heels hoops team, they will be ready to win a bunch next season. Roy will remake this team into a more outside oriented threat. The baseball team is probably on the way to the CWS again.

From what I can tell you seem to be trying to talk yourself into feeling superior by hurling detractions out about UNC. I guess that's what happens when you fear the competition. I suggest professional help to overcome those fears.

You are the troll of all trolls! You are "hoping" that McDonald and Strickland will be out and anyone else that can be injured at Carolina. Thats the kind of fan you are.

As far as Oriahki goes, I definitely wanted to land him. Carolina needs depth in the middle so he would have been a huge pickup. Certainly not concerned that Duke will man-handle UNC in the post this year but there are several other teams with depth and talent in the middle.

Lets face it, if all the underclassmen came back this conversation wouldn't be taking place. Just like in 2010 when UNC lost a load of talent from the previous season and handed a national championship to another school this next year could prove challenging. You might to focus on Duke a little more and less on Carolina. I don't think you guys are going to be all that either!

Glad I'm not the only one noticing that the Duke fans are very interested in whats going on at UNC. Will be interesting to see if Micki asks her husband to step down again for the season next year. We shall see!

Oh, Mr. Subzero is a Duke fan. Thanks for that tidbit Mr. Larry. OK, that explains everything. It's a long way to basketball season and then there is a huge rift in the ranks with Mason's Dad and High School Coach calling out K for not developing Mason. As I said before, when something like that goes public, it means they could not work it out behind closed doors. They have called out K in public for not playing Mason as they felt and now K will have to either knuckle under or go old school Bobby Knight. There are some big issues in the Duke camp you are not hearing about and it'a about time for Duke to have a good old fashioned family war. It happens to everyone from time to time, UNC had theirs in 2009-1010 with LD2 and the Wears were the start.

On another note, Duke football is coming up, so Cutcliffe has yet another chance this year to make a bowl. Wonder why the Duke fans are not talking about that possibility?

Bowl game? If the football team wins 3 games this year the dookies will consider it a successful season.

RE: Why has the UNC board gone silent?

UNC = NIT 2012/13. Maybe 3rd or 4th round, possibley getting to Madison Square Garden for the "final 4"

So worried about UNC!! Lol.............we shall see!

RE: Why has the UNC board gone silent?

I figure they've gone silent because they are downright EMBARRASSED that their esteemed university has once again lied through their teeth about their Spring game attendance.

The question is, why would they lie about something as unimportant as that? And an even bigger question is why should we ever take them at their word about anything when they lie about something as dumb as Spring game attendance?

Serious question... do they think of it as a black eye on the program that so few people show up when they aren't giving away flat screen TVs and stuff like they did that first year they were on ESPN?

6-26 in ACC play would be my guess.

Not sure I appreciate you calling me a liar becasue you just did. May I ask where you get off with a personal attack on me and what I saw? I posted what I thought the attendance was and I was there. Not sure where you get off sitting in judgment of something that really should not matter to NCSU fans and on erroneous information. Maybe you should read how packed Stadium Drive was with fans and how early they got there and how great a time everyone had and how the football team looked. Also the picture you are relying on was pre-game warmups, the bands were still playing. Given your number of posts I'm surprised you were duped into making such a mockery of yourself and the Wolfpack. Embarrassed is you after that ill advised and poorly thought out post. This is a great example of why Wolfpack fans get such a bad name.

Here is some interesting info you may want to read. My suggestion is to work and improve your image rather than work to justify the critique and scorn.

I remember when Herb was run out of town, some of the fans had their kids harrassing Herb's kids at school. And yes, this is first hand from a teacher who had to get involved in discipline of the transgressors. All you did by posting was foment the insanity that is the lunatic fringe of your fanbase.
