Before the game the Lehigh fans were telling us that they were going to take it easy on Duke! They got a little scare for a while but overall Lehigh put the smackdown on them!

Not sure I appreciate you calling me a liar becasue you just did. May I ask where you get off with a personal attack on me and what I saw? I posted what I thought the attendance was and I was there. Not sure where you get off sitting in judgment of something that really should not matter to NCSU fans and on erroneous information. Maybe you should read how packed Stadium Drive was with fans and how early they got there and how great a time everyone had and how the football team looked. Also the picture you are relying on was pre-game warmups, the bands were still playing. Given your number of posts I'm surprised you were duped into making such a mockery of yourself and the Wolfpack. Embarrassed is you after that ill advised and poorly thought out post. This is a great example of why Wolfpack fans get such a bad name.

Here is some interesting info you may want to read. My suggestion is to work and improve your image rather than work to justify the critique and scorn.

I figure they've gone silent because they are downright EMBARRASSED that their esteemed university has once again lied through their teeth about their Spring game attendance.

The question is, why would they lie about something as unimportant as that? And an even bigger question is why should we ever take them at their word about anything when they lie about something as dumb as Spring game attendance?

Serious question... do they think of it as a black eye on the program that so few people show up when they aren't giving away flat screen TVs and stuff like they did that first year they were on ESPN?

Oh, Mr. Subzero is a Duke fan. Thanks for that tidbit Mr. Larry. OK, that explains everything. It's a long way to basketball season and then there is a huge rift in the ranks with Mason's Dad and High School Coach calling out K for not developing Mason. As I said before, when something like that goes public, it means they could not work it out behind closed doors. They have called out K in public for not playing Mason as they felt and now K will have to either knuckle under or go old school Bobby Knight. There are some big issues in the Duke camp you are not hearing about and it'a about time for Duke to have a good old fashioned family war. It happens to everyone from time to time, UNC had theirs in 2009-1010 with LD2 and the Wears were the start.

On another note, Duke football is coming up, so Cutcliffe has yet another chance this year to make a bowl. Wonder why the Duke fans are not talking about that possibility?

You are the troll of all trolls! You are "hoping" that McDonald and Strickland will be out and anyone else that can be injured at Carolina. Thats the kind of fan you are.

As far as Oriahki goes, I definitely wanted to land him. Carolina needs depth in the middle so he would have been a huge pickup. Certainly not concerned that Duke will man-handle UNC in the post this year but there are several other teams with depth and talent in the middle.

Lets face it, if all the underclassmen came back this conversation wouldn't be taking place. Just like in 2010 when UNC lost a load of talent from the previous season and handed a national championship to another school this next year could prove challenging. You might to focus on Duke a little more and less on Carolina. I don't think you guys are going to be all that either!

Hmmm...I don't feel this at all or think this. Not too worried about Basketball, yes Paige has a stress fracture similar to what Lawson had so it will heal and all will be good. Love football and love Fedora, maybe you are hoping football won't be important. Well it is and it's going to be great. Oriahki? It was a long shot to start with and with McAdoo, not needed. Don't you worry about the Heels hoops team, they will be ready to win a bunch next season. Roy will remake this team into a more outside oriented threat. The baseball team is probably on the way to the CWS again.

From what I can tell you seem to be trying to talk yourself into feeling superior by hurling detractions out about UNC. I guess that's what happens when you fear the competition. I suggest professional help to overcome those fears.

  • kennywalters Apr 16, 2012
    Sports Legend

Sub, McDonald could've come back this season, but they decided to keep the redshirt on him rather than bring him back. This was discussed after Dexter's injury. Yes, ACL's are bad, but this also isn't 1982 where an ACL was just about a guaranteed career ender. Strickland will be playing next year.

  • BlueDeviIs00 Apr 16, 2012
    Sports Legend

No one knows how McDonald and Strickland are going to play next year. Torn ACL's are pretty much the worse injury a guard can suffer. They rely on their knees for acceleration, speed, burst, jumping, etc. Especially Strickland-- he tore his ACL in december, those injuries typically take at least 1 year to fully recover from.

I doubt Strick will even be ready for the beginning of the season. McDonald should, though. Big difference in tearing an ACL in june compared to december.

Paige will have to start, and being off his feet for 6 weeks is going to hurt his progress. Joel James will have to start, with only Brice Johnson and Hubert as the backup post players.

Sub, as usual you attempt to troll.

Oriakhi coming would have been nice, but became less important when McAdoo returned. Ultimately, from what I've heard, UNC actually backed off of Oriakhi due to some comments he made concerning Calhoun and the UConn program.

Next year's point guard has a stress fracture in his foot. I had one when I was in college and I was told basically not to run for 6 weeks. His may be a bit worse, but even if he is "out until June" that's no big deal since actual practice doesn't start until well after that point.

Plumlee? Don't make me laugh. No one fears that stiff. McAdoo will run the floor and be just fine thanks for your concern though.

As for comparing next season to 2010, you're way off base. In 2010, UNC had lost both Ty Lawson AND Bobby Frasor. Larry Drew II ended up being the incumbent at the point and we all know how his career at UNC worked out. Bust. Next season, Paige will come in, but doesn't have to start if he's not ready for those kind of minutes. You forget that UNC has Dexter Strickland back and his play as the back-up point has steadily improved to the point where he is at least capable if not spectacular. This team also will not have the dearth of leadership that the 2010 team did IMO with Strickland a senior, McDonald a junior and Bullock a junior either all starting or at least getting prime minutes. No one will be picking UNC to win the national championship, but anyone who thinks they'll repeat 2010 is insane. They may end up being closer to 2006.

  • kato_karma.01 Apr 16, 2012

The center position is definitely the key area of concern for Heel basketball next season. Even if James ends up being solid, their depth at the power forward and center spots will be questionable. That said, other than at center, UNC will be better than dook at the other 4 starting slots. UNC's bigger concern will be matching up with NCSU...with or without Calvin.
