UNC has sunk to a new low Saturday after fudging their Spring Football Game's score and attendance.

At halftime, UNC gave the Blue team an extra 14pts in an attempt to make Fedora's offense look more effective... errr, I mean, to "make the score closer."

Afterwards, they announced an attendance of 15,000. Although this picture paints a much clearer estimate of probably somewhere around 1,500. http://reesenews.org/2012/04/13/unc-spring-football-game-to-begin-at-3-p-m-saturday/41895/.

Everyone knows it's tough times at UNC for their football program, but this is just hilarious.

That's 1500 more than there were at the Duke spring game. Any time a Duke fan makes a comment about UNC football you end up coming off like a tool so maybe your team should hit the ten win mark for the DECADE before you start heckling other schools, especially those that have beaten you 20 of the last 21.

My question here is simple: Why lie about Spring Football Game attendance? WHY? There's no reason, unless you are embarrassed by the turnout.

The proof is in the photos. I care because a public university accountable to the public that supports it should disseminate accurate information.

yup, no other explanation for the PERFECTLY ROUND numbers they claim for regular season attendance at football games.

what's funny is their AVERAGE hoops attendance is NOT a nice ROUNDED number.... so it makes it rather clear that they feel INFERIOR (or embarrassed) about their football numbers and thus feel compelled to BLATANTLY LIE.

Get a grip! It was a spring game which is basically a overblown practice. This means situational evaluation of the players. The coaching staff obviously wanted the score to be closer to practice these gametime situations. All this tells me is that perhaps the first team is far more advanced that the second team.

I couldn't give a rat's behind about the scoring. I just think it's funny how they turn 4-5K into 17K, and do so with a straight face.

I didn't bring it up. Someone else mentioned the fudging of the score. I couldn't care less how they scored. It was a scrimmage. It's the blatant lying that SHOULD bother everyone that pulls for Carolina.

I really don't understand what the big deal is with the number in attendance. If this had been a regular season game, then I could understand the comments. The more important data is how the team is adjusting to the coach's new game plan. A hurry up offense properly executed is going to give a lot of teams a major headache this year. Most ACC schools have not faced this concept and will need to adjust their substitution protocol.
