UNC fudges Spring Football Game attendance, score

RE: UNC fudges Spring Football Game attendance, score

I'd estimate about 15K there - in their seats - not using the restrooms. That would be a hell of a flush if 15K did it at once. You'd hear it all the way in Raleigh if that was the case.

Why doesn't anyone ever produce a photo that shows how crowded it was?

You are the one who is disputing the official count. Therefore it is incumbent upon you to present contradictory evidence.

Every year we all see the photos. A simple photo of a crowded stadium would put this to rest, but yet, we never seem to see one that shows otherwise.

The photos (taken DURING the game -- players on the field in formation) show the low turnout. If you say the photo is wrong, it is incumbent on YOU to provide a photo that proves it wrong.

Every cell phone has a camera these days. One would think that of the 17K fans that were there, maybe ONE of them would post a photo of the crowd to put this to rest.

But they cannot. Because no such photo can exist unless someone photoshops one.

the only folks who care about this, quite obviously, are you wulf fans. This is your new cause de jour.

Hope it keeps you up worrying.

BTW, I thought it was 20,000.

RE: UNC fudges Spring Football Game attendance, score

Actually, it was 17,216.....17,000 for attendance, 216 for the phone records.

But video evidence exists. The game is available for viewing on ESPN3. Have you looked there to confirm you suspicions. Of course with your paranoid conspiracy theories about UNC you probably think that ESPN "photoshopped" the video.

RE: UNC fudges Spring Football Game attendance, score

A reminder for those unfamiliar with Kenan. Most pictures and videos are shot from the South/home side of Kenan and fans are also more likely to sit on that side to avoid facing the sun all day. People on the north side are often clustered in shade under the upper deck. Similarly, those on the south side usually sit 25+ rows up because you can see better.

Have fun counting, particularly up in the shadows. BTW I believe the main seating area is roughly 40,000 not including the upper deck, the end zones, or the boxes.

Don't confuse them with facts, it only makes them irritable.

I just want to see them try to count the people in B-deck covered, maybe row AAA and up.

Third Grade Estimating Skill

http://www.statefansnation.com/index.php/archives/2012/04/16/annual-unc-ch-spring-game-attendance-charade-continues/

Precisely 17,000 people, right?

My question here is simple: Why lie about Spring Football Game attendance? WHY? There's no reason, unless you are embarrassed by the turnout.

I arrived at the game about 10 minutes into the first quarter, entered the stadium on the north side and walked around the concourse to the south side. I counted the number of rows filled on both sides, the end zone, and the Blue Zone and multipled by the number of seats in each row/section. I estimated that, at that time, there were 16,240 in the stadium in their seats. I learned this close estimating skill in third grade and I hope others did, too! I don't know how many there were in there seats before the scrimmage or after it. As for offense and defense, it was obvious that the defense was not going at 100% when tackling (and had been told not to do so to avoid injuries).....the offense looked exactly as one would expect when putting in a totally new offensive system....Remember, this was a spring scrimmage and was played as such as illustrated by the "situations" displayed during the scrimmage. As to the ESPN issue, the scrimmage was shown on ESPN 3....my neighbor watched it.

Once again...you are going to confuse the ABCers with all that logical, well thoughout analysis. Be careful

I don't know, TBK, I really don't. I did take some ics, but since GOLO no longer exists, I have no place to show them.

Use tinypic.com -- you can upload a photo and it gives you a tinypic URL to link to them.

Way too technical for me, TBK:( One of my daughters is good with technology, so I may ask her. I took the pics with a good camera - a Nikon D-90. They show all sides other than the one I was sitting in.

RE: UNC fudges Spring Football Game attendance, score

^^^gadzooks! if only the secret service,(how ironic they couldn't keep their services secret),weren't so preoccupied. maybe they could satisfy tbk and the puppychat nation by setting up surviellance for the whole season. GO WOLPFACK!!! whoever they are...lol
