Coach K won all his titles in the modern format. Which makes it that much more impressive, thanks for pointing that out to us. Also, he won back to back titles, something no UNC coach will ever sniff.

Any year Duke doesn't win it all, they will probably have lost to a lower seed, seeing that they are almost always a #1 seed. K coaches & tries to win every game. They usually overachieve and maybe get a seed higher than their talent. Maybe K should mail it in for some games like Unc does and go in with a lower seed. I've never seen anything sadder than someone so obsessed with Duke & K, that they make 25 posts on Dukes sites everyday & have them as their avatar. In your head a little? Is that Rivers pic after he collapsed from laughing after he nailed the Unc winner?

wonder how many of K's former players,and/or coaches have succeeded in basketball careers as nba players or coaches? pretty much zero. K has all of those accolades having had all the advantages of Carolina sending talent early 27YEARS before he sent 1 player.Yet he is only .500 against Carolina IN 32 YRS OF COACHING! Dean retired when he could have easily added a 100 wins...guthridge went to 2 final fours and set records...Dean's former players are in the HOF as players and as coaches...K can't hold a candle to Dean, and only those who haven't followed basketball have such a shallow analysis. by the way DEAN OWNED DOOK AND K, and went 1 game shy of going .500 in cameron...wow...K is a media creation. All those number 1 seeds and flameout 6 of 7 yrs to LOWER SEEDS. impressive. real impressive.

You know what else is impressive? Coach K's 4 National Titles compared to 2 for Dean.

For the first 14 years or so of Dean's career only the conference winner went to the NCAA tourney. Dean turned things around after a few years as a head coach, the first decade of K's career was a mess.

Relatively speaking, there was a MUCH larger improvement in the level of USA Olympic basketball team talent than the improvement in international competition.

Our 1976 collegians won the gold by an average of around 15 points per game (and a couple of extremely close contests) whilst our 2008 pros did so by an average of around 28 points per game.

how many former players of K in the nba made the top 15 list of the dirtiest players, voted on by their peers? Answer: 2. Henderson at 6, and battier at 13. No former UNC players on that list. Guess K is good at teaching his players after all...this tells the tale, esp. considering how many of your fans still post with GLEE the unnecessary blows tyler has received from dirty dook players. guess their peers have blown the whistle on them. cue up the deflections and excuses gentlemen. OH AND WHAT WAS K'S RECORD AGAINST DEAN? yep. he owned K.
