Probably the same as the number of dookies that would root against USA basketball if Roy Williams were coach.

I would be pulling for the good ol 'USA even if ol' Roy was coaching. It would prove that we could still win in spite of him.

As a proud American, you would hope that everyone would root for their country to do well in the Olympics, no matter who the coach is or what players are on the team.

But then you remember all the bitter UNC fans that are out there.

It's a no-lose situation for them. If USA loses, it was Coach K's fault. If USA wins, how could he lose with Lebron and Kobe?

sure it's a job and K can handle it easily...but let's get serious...he gets to pick and choose from the best players on the planet against everyone else. Real different than when Dean took college players and won the gold medal back. K should win. If it were Roy, or anyone else, they should win also. No contest. I could coach them. After all I've logged hundreds of hours watching them and I know their collective strengths and weaknesses also. Doubt I could come up with a plan that could stop kobe, dwayne, or lebron from being themselves once the ball went up. K doesn't deserve all the s*cking off by the media with all the advantages in the world. Put him in charge of Poland's team and lets see what he can do. HA

The fact that Roy Williams doesn't coach the Olympic team, the fact that Coach K has more titles than both of UNCs 2 best coaches in school history, the fact that he hold the All-Time Division 1 Wins record and the NCAA tournament wins records.

Take your pick.

The NBA/Olympics situation pretty much handles itself as Kiwi gets cudos just for rolling the basketball onto the court. However, dook's recent NCAA tourney trend clearly shows who is getting the short end of the stick. 6 out of 7 flameouts in the Sour 16 or earlier was bad enough...then came LEHIGH. Time for Kiwi to retire his hair color.

Roy Williams was named the coach of the Decade from 2001-2010.
Roy Williams has the highest current winning percentage at over 81%
Roy Williams since 2000 has more NCAA tourney wins than any other coach, and it is not even close.
Roy Williams made it to 600 wins faster than any other coach in history.
K has been on a decline for years and his current college coaching and recruiting is a shell of its former self. It could be more sad, but not much more so.

Yep, Dean won Olympic gold with the best college players in the country. Funny how everyone forgets to mention how the level of international competition wasn't even close to what it is these days though.

They were still college players who didn't play with or against each other on a regular basis. These are pros who see each other day in and day out, so just how much coaching is there to do? Basically NONE! Just what the heck can k teach them?

These are pros going against a much higher level of international competition who also have NBA caliber players on their rosters. These current NBA players would have totally crushed our college players. And as far as competition, the Russians were always a challenging opponent and it usually came down the us and them. Your comment is invalid and carries no merit!
