There was no plot with Weaver and James Johnson. Come on. Weaver is smarter than this one. All sportsfans that has read anything about this knows that Weaver didn't have his ducks in a row. He reached out and grabbed a former coach with ties to the school. His (hire) per press conference didn't pan out. Lutz would have lost some monies from Charlotte had he taken this job. Do the math.

After listening to Johnson's press interview, I don't know. This guy needs to project much better, and I'm sure that he was nervous too...but his interview wasn't even close to an educated coach. Sorry. That's the best I can say. Maybe he will learn to sit up straight, speak clearly, and convince people. Maybe he can recruit. He reminded me of Coach Withers at UNC.

It's time for Weaver to retire. I hope that our President will give him his retirement package and move on with someone that can see reality and not keep embarrassing my (our) school. Weaver has health issues. He didn't do hardly anything right in this situation.

Your description of Johnson does sound a lot like Withers' first presser after he was named the HC. It seems Weaver took the easy way out and made the hire without really looking around to find a more qualified coach. One positive is the players wanted him to stay, so he'll provide continuity and hopefully inspiration for them to play hard.
