I'm sure there's not a chance in Hades that any athletes benefited from this alleged fraud. ESPECIALLY not the basketball players. No way, no how. Football players all day long, but no basketball players.
The beauty of it is that there are hard, fast academic records of what classes were taken by what athlete.
Can you smell that?
It's the sweet smell of VINDICATION wafting through the air.

Wow. This is very disappointing. All these academic issues were supposed to be researched, exposed, delt with and in the rear view mirror. This is a very serious issue.
I'll wait until all the facts are in before forming an opinion, but I have to say that this does not look good.

No wonder UNC hasn't had an academic casualty in football OR basketball in over 30 years. With professors (& department chairs)on the take like Mr. N'garo, no wonder. The cover has been pulled off the cheating machine that is UNC athletics once again. I'm soooooo thankful my son isn't going there next year. He was accepted & considered, but I told him 'Things are not as they seem over there.' With rampant grade inflation & academic fraud, UNC's reputation is taking a serious hit. Of course, most UNC sports fans don't care about that.

jgunn, what facts are you waiting on? This is the report of an in-house investigation by UNC professors. If you're expecting a Poole Commission-style independent investigation ordered by the Board of Governors, don't hold your breath.

Bill Friday has been trying to clean up UNC for decades, it's about time this institutionalized corruption was exposed and dealt with, regardless of the repercussions to athletics, take down those banners & over sized tees, they were not legitimately achieved.

This isn't about sports or keeping players eligible.
It's a professor/dept chairman that scammed the university and it's students. Compounded by an incompetent administration firmly entrenched in the politically correct liberal cesspool known as modern American education. It's the handcuffs of political correctness and the castrated liberal vision of academia that allow garbage like this to flourish. It's the same mentality that let's this fraud of a professor to retire in July, with pension I presume, instead of showing him the door while planting a footprint on his backside on the way out.
