Report finds academic fraud at UNC

RE: Report finds academic fraud at UNC

I'm sure it is easier for you to accept what you want to hear, but then again, taking the easy way out seems to be "par" for the course for you

Bahahahahahahhahhahaahaahahaaa!!

Got Mirror, denialboy???

Nope...got facts. I'm ok with those.

I'll leave the hysteria to you, Urine Boy.

RE: Report finds academic fraud at UNC

^^^the FACT is, a man that's paid for his opine, quoted a former teammate of will graves saying that all men's hoops players (THE WHOLE TEAM) takes that the class in which academic fraud has been uncovered.

and, considering I highly doubt that person would jeopardize his well being/job.. I'll have to believe that he was merely doing what most men in his position with integrity do when protecting a source.... referred to them vaguely.

LOL @ unc's "journalism dept" NOT teaching that (apparently).

well, the fact is that two faculty members who are paid for their ability to research and their knowledge, looked at the actual evidence, actual transcripts, actual interviews and determined that 3% of the enrollments in suspect courses belonged to basketball players.

I'll put more weight on that body of work than one quote from one unnamed player without any supporting evidence.

I think that 3 percent = 23 players right? That would certainly cover a whole team or at least a majority of a couple of teams.

Forget the 3% for a second.

The article states that 23 enrollments in the bogus classes were made by members of the basketball team. That may not sound like alot to you, but it's more than 0 which means UNC basketball was involved/was a beneficiary of academic fraud.

RE: Report finds academic fraud at UNC

^^^^both of the last 2 posts are steeped in FACT... and thus shall be summarily AVOIDED by one, forautumn.

sadly.

uh oh.

and agreed. I'm not sure about the term "bogus" classes, but they are suspect classes.

I know Farkus won't believe this, but if they found our players(b'ball or football) engaged in some type of fraud, I have no problem whatsoever with any penalties that we get. Not just players...students as well.

Students(athlete or non-athletes) enrolling in "easy" courses is not the problem. The caveat here is that enrolling in classes alone is not the problem. But if the student/athlete benefitted, there need to be ramifications. What those are, I don't know.

But I said earlier..shut the whole program down (AA Studies, Farkus) until you have determined the magnitude of the problem and what, if anything, can be done to fix it.

Agreed....

Or could a smaller number of players enrolled in multiple AA Studies classes make up that 3%?
