7 1/3 innings with 10Ks before giving up a slow roller in the gap that Coyle just could not put a glove on. 22 up, 22 down. Dominating Performance.

I saw Wilson Alverez pitch a no-no with the White Sox when they played the Os and this was more electric due to the possibility of the perfect game. Tough luck on that grounder Coyle made a monumental effort to get to. Heels looked like they were ready for Omaha today. Very efficient. Moran is a beast. IMHO Hobbs lost the No-No when VT had to change pitchers due to the Heels scoring in the long bottom of the 7th and he was in the dugout and got cold. Bounced his first pitch of the 8th. A Rocky Mount kid making it in big time college baseball. Just an absolutely off the hook performance and a beautiful day for baseball.

Amazing that Johnson only once let the count reach three "testicles ". He was reall efficient, backed by good fielding.

The Heels are looking like they usually do after exams. It all seems to come together, not that they weren't already good. This is still a young team with only two seniors on the team: Stallings at catcher and RHP Messer.

Hope they will be seeded and able to stay in CH through the super regional. Makes it a lot easier to get back to Omaha.

Yeah - it's amazing what does and what doesn't get past the babysitter here. Did get a chuckle out of your edit though.

Anyway, the Heels are looking really, really good, and this is the right time to peak. Lefty Johnson is what the team needs to make their way back to Omaha. Moran is looking really good as well; he's providing the offense that was missing for a while. The Heels are in the same group as State, and a possible rematch will be interesting as State is looking good as well.
