The Friedlander Cup

RE: The Friedlander Cup

Well, different priorities I guess. Even using your logic, though, Friedlander's article is off-base.

no it is not

Carolina underachieved in the major sports....just like the article said

You may be correct the Carolina "underachieved" in the major sports. When a school has a long history of winning and championship caliber teams, much more is expected of them than is sometimes reasonable. But if you look at the three "major" sports, all three teams had non-losing seasons and played in the post season. This year two of the three ACC schools in the triangle area accomplished that feat.

college baseball is not a major sport....like BP said, it is a way distant 3rd. I am sure 95% of the people posting up here never watched a game all season or have in the past. Lets be real.

Fair enough. Let me amend my statement.

But if you look at the two "major" sports, both teams had non-losing seasons and played in the post season. This year two of the three ACC schools in the triangle area accomplished that feat.

I have watched baseball in person and on TV, listen to most UNC games on radio, post about games here.

Attend various softball, soccer, lacrosse games / matches, watched more on TV.

Basketball (names on the wall) and football (under the upper deck near 40 yard line).

Keep up with how UNC teams and individuals are doing in all sports.

"I have watched baseball in person"

So would you like some brie or Camembert for the 7th inning stretch?

No thanks. By the 7th I've usually finished with snacks. And you really can't drink at the Bosh.

There are a lot more Carolina fans who do this than you probably think. No question that more people watch basketball, fairly high numbers for football. Each has 10 times the attendance of baseball or soccer.

My point is that many of those who post here re UNC do follow and attend the other sports, not just basketball and football.

RE: The Friedlander Cup

BTW Thanks for the reminder. Picked up a large piece of Brie at the store. Will be great with a nice wine and a baguette.
