Smack Talk versus Disrupters
I posted this earlier as a reply over in a State thread. After seeing seeing another batch of spam posts, some by "our" so-called fans, I decided to repost over here:
The !Report option can be our friend. Wral does respond to them. I have taken to just reporting those who spam the same post to 25 threads, those who make homophobic, sexist, or racist remarks over and over, those who stalk other posters from one thread to another, and those who bring personal information regarding others to these forums. I do it whether they support State, Carolina, Duke, or anyone else.
All of these types of behavior are prohibited by the code of conduct for this site. Wral does respond to !Report. So I suggest we all alert on those repeatedly far out of bounds, and then ignore them. When they try to hijack threads, reestablish the original topic if we wish, but above all try not to feed the trolls.
It's not easy. I know I get sucked in some times. Each school is "blessed" with 2-4 disrupters who are responsible collectively for the bulk of the problems here. They each excuse their antisocial behavior by claiming they are "just talking smack". I disagree,

i think he is talking about you....just an FYI. Im sure you can think of the other 3 that make up the 4.
I feel bad for UNC70. He seems like a "real" UNC fan.

I agree. That is why I haven't visited this site much lately. It seems like there are a few knuckleheads that ruin it for everyone. Duke, UNC, and State posters alike. Lots of personal vendettas being carried out thru trollish threads.

Now that UNC has been caught cheating you can't win on this forum so you should go tell you mommy if that makes it all better. Call the SBI to help with it since they're already in town on business. Funny how it was all good before the investigation guys. HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA

I dislike the use of insults instead of honest discourse. Those that think they need to call names to get their point across ruin the exchange of good natured debate.

I have not changed my position in this regard as a result of any investigation -- internal, NCAA, SBI, ... -- nor as a result of goading by anyone online.
I also try to be civil, even when replying to those whose lack of manners is painfully obvious to everyone else.

You tell'em my friend! I don't blame for not calling them out by name, though because it would be embarrassing to the mjority of good and decent bloggers of a certain fanbase. But on that same note, has anyone noticed who it is that never responds to the actual thread title? These same individuals immediately go into personnal attacks without ever making a single point on the topic posted.
