I hope he's picking out a spot for The Flagship's latest Elite 8 Banner, something no other team from the ACC could accomplish in 2012.

There's not much space left in those rafters in the Dean Dome to put it..it's going to take some planning.

Let's go back to the year Coach K started since Duke fans like yourself seem to associate their basketball program only with him:

4 NCAA Tournament Championships (1982, 1993, 2005, 2009)

11 Regional Championships or Final Fours (1981, 1982, 1991, 1993, 1995, 1997, 1998, 2000, 2005, 2008, 2009)

9 ACC Tournament Championships (1981, 1982, 1989, 1991, 1994, 1997, 1998, 2007, 2008)

15 ACC Regular Season Championships (1982, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1987, 1988, 1993, 1995, 2001, 2005, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012)

And just remember that I'm using YOUR preferred time period (i.e. the Coach K years at Duke) as a reference. All in all, it looks fairly even to me.

You are using years when ol roy was some where else? you are giving ol roy credit for dean smith years and other coaches. K is one man an he still looks better than all your's combined. Does that tell you anything?

I was responding to your claim that "Due" had 10x as many banners as UNC did. To refute that nonsense, it stands to reason I would do more than just compare K's 32 years at Duke with Roy's 9 seasons at Carolina.

1. honesty.............extremely good
2. Ability............. the best
3. Students graduating his program........tops
4. Students attending class...............far better than unc
5. recognized as a real gentleman ........In a position even Roy Williams envies
6. leader of men......................... recognized world wide 7. Teacher................................Helps young men to develop and become . leaders of tomorrow 8. Courageous...............When his team loses which is seldom,he stays with his . team to face adversity as a man and accepts defeat . . with dignity,always congratulating the other team win . or lose. Leading? The Olympic coach is a figurehead and nothing more. The players on the team are some of the BEST in the WORLD.....what can he teach them. Absolutely nothing!

1992: All-American Christian Laettner has a perfect game in the Blue Devilsâ�� classic regional final against Kentucky: 10-10 from the floor, 10-10 from the free throw line, 1-1 on kicks to freshman Aminu Timberlakeâ��s chest. Instead of getting ejected for stomping on an opponent and strutting away from his prone body, the refs merely give Laettner a technical and let him play on, allowing him to hit his infamous game-winner. â��Thatâ��s just part of the game,â�� Laettner says of the altercation after Dukeâ��s victory. His teammate Cherokee Parksâ�� take: â��It's such a Laettner move to do something like that.â��

2000: After leaving Duke, former star Corey Maggette admits to accepting thousands of dollars from summer-league coach Myron Piggie. Too bad they don't give out banners for failing to reach or get past the Sweet 16. dook would have a lock on that and they would have expand Hansbrough Arena. I read an article they other day about the best college basketball venues and it it dook selling out every game. That must really be a tough task. I laughed so hard, I almost did the wee-wee on myself.
