Blind Devotion

Blind Devotion

Some still too blind...... hmm...... which local fan base fits that bill?

Oh wait, the author tells us in this paragraph:

Same thing with North Carolina fans who defended Butch Davis. The man hired an agent's runner and put him in charge of recruiting, which would be the punch line to a pretty good joke if it hadn't actually happened -- but UNC fans defended Davis, saying he had no idea. Never mind that the agent's runner, John Blake, was one of Davis' best friends. Had been for 30 years. Davis couldn't possibly have known, otherwise intelligent fans from a great academic school tried to tell us.

I think this guy owes the Badger some royalties since I've written about this several times over the last couple of years, myself.

RE: Blind Devotion

But one sentence where the author missed completely was where he referred to Carolina fans as "otherwise intelligent fans"... based on WHAT??? Carolina fans are about as clueless as fans can be, generally speaking.

There are a few here that aren't clueless, but not many.

Covering thousands upon thousands of anonymous people with one stroke of the brush is more of a knock on your intelligence than those you speak of, generally speaking...

RE: Blind Devotion

This blog disappeared today. Now it is back after I re-posted it without the negative commentary about Carolina's blindly devotional fans. Interesting.

Ah, but that's what we do to the opposition on these blogs. Don't try to take the fun out of it, KJ!

TBK - the Badger has written "several" times on this over the past few years??? Several thousand is more like it:)

Trash talk aside, I think a lot of Carolina fans have faced the fact that Butch needed to go, whether he "knew" or not. My money is on he "knew", but whatever the case it was his job to know, so Butch had to go.

Nah TBK. There are a bunch that know what's going on on here. Unfortunately some fans just go overboard, and many of these don't even know how to write a simple sentence. Most of the grads aren't even on here. However, I do appreciate a bunch of grads from UNC, State, WF, and others. Blind devotion is when people look the other way when the facts can smack them in the mind and heart, and they still look the other way.
