Same thing with North Carolina fans who defended Butch Davis. The man hired an agent's runner and put him in charge of recruiting, which would be the punch line to a pretty good joke if it hadn't actually happened -- but UNC fans defended Davis, saying he had no idea. Never mind that the agent's runner, John Blake, was one of Davis' best friends. Had been for 30 years. Davis couldn't possibly have known, otherwise intelligent fans from a great academic school tried to tell us.

This was an interesting article and one that I truly believe. The situation at PSU was the worst in History. Joe Pa was guilty of allowing this animal Sandusky to do this and the administration did as well. Joe Pa was thought of as a God up there as the article stated. Thank goodness Sandusky got caught. UNC is a different situation. For those that supported Butch Davis...I know better. What a deal he received as he exited UNC. Thank goodness he is gone, as well as those that got fired.

That's exactly correct. I was going to quote tommy too. There is a tremendous difference between having blind devotion and being loyal to your school. But, when it comes to looking the other way in spite of all charges when people have blantly broken the rules...it becomes a different animal. This article was about going beyond having devotion and simply loving your school.

Blind devotion means looking the other way when you know the truth in your heart to protect someone at all costs.

Totally agree, Tommy. "Fan" is derived from "fanatic" for a reason.
