Another wuffie myth blown up.

Blows huge holes in that "it may be harder to get into UNC, but it's harder to graduate from state" lie, doesn't it?

Indeed it does...not that state college needed any more holes blown in their wacky theories....

RE: Another wuffie myth blown up.

Telling statement from the lead page:

"In other words, these are the colleges where accepted students find the workload easiest when normalized by the aptitude of the student body".

Translation: As easy as it is to get in, they've dumbed it down to make it even easier to get out.

What is about to follow is NOT a "wuffie myth" or "wacky theory". These are the stats provided by the University of North Carolina System. That's all 17 institutions.

The 4yr. graduation rate for the entire UNC System is 35.2% the 5 yr. is 54.2%.

The 4yr. graduation rate for NCSU is 40.8% the 5 yr. is 67.0%.

The 4yr. graduation rate for ewenc is 75.2% the 5 yr. is 85.4%.

These are stats provided by the UNC System. Not NCSU, some web rag, or ewenc.(or my opinion) These #'s cleary indicate that if you go to/get into ewenc you get a degree.

A rational person looking at these stats (that are public knowlege, provided by THE UNC SYSTEM) can determine ewenc's #'s are out of the range/avgerage and would have to ask. WHY is it so easy to graduate from ewenc ? Better yet, HOW in the world do the "student athletes" graduate at an even HIGHER rate than the students that had to stand on thier own qualifications ?

B-4 you ask....Link....www.northcarolina.edu. These are graduation rates of all students enrolled after year 4 & year 5.

Heelman, I just can't see why young men who want to pursue college athletics would be concerned about it being easy to get out. I'd think they would want to go to the most rigorous program possible. I heard the bowling class at NCSU is brutal, with the instructor not even counting any game bowled under 150 for a grade. (Yes, tongue firmly planted in cheek). Oh, don't confuse TwKaMf, he thinks graduation rates mean it's easier at UNC, he has not discovered it's because they learn more.

Hey TwKaMF, I'd certainly rather have my kid going to a university he is going to graduate from. That means they are highly interested in teaching the material and making sure you have learned it than just presenting it and leaving it all to chance. Interestingly in the public school system, graduation rate = best schools in general. So thaniks for proving Heelman's arguments. I think touting a lower graduation rate has actually hurt your argument, but, maybe it's just me.

It proves what we've known all along - that UNC students are smarter than NCSU students. Just on average - it doesn't mean all of them. We know there are some NCSU students smarter than some UNC students.
