RE: Charlotte Observer: When Did Scandal Become a Major At UNC?
Afraid it will take more than beating us in hoops to end the flogging of the expired equine.- Posted by unc70
Not sure how this will all play out, but those at each campus of the UNC System will be affected in the next 2-3 years. Audits and reviews after the first year of this mess are being imemented on other campuses. You get the people at ECU bragging they passed their first audit of athletic majors with no violations. It takes multiple years for those audits to be effective, and even then are lacking. Carolina has been passing those audits for a number without exposing the recent abuses.
After all the legal wrangling works out the allowed procedures, how long do you think it will be before some eager sports writer sends FOI requests to your favorite school, its coaches and administrators? Just because they can. All the UNC System schools will be vulnerable.
Not defending Carolina nor claiming that others are just as bad. But if you look that closely at nearly any school you will find something suspect. Even benign behavior can raise concerns.
Duke and Wake are relatively more protected, but there is potential spillover that would involve them.
Well said.
And yes, there will be a domino effect.
Which is why the more intelligent Wolffies are not gloating and LTBAO.
