Pathetic...absolutely pathetic.

RE: Tyquan Lewis

Gotta admit, Meyer did a snow job on the kid. Read the article. Meyer told him he had coached a few DEs in the past that were first-round drafts, and Lewis fit that mold. I'm pretty sure he reeled him in like a dead fish after that.

Absolutely, its gotta be tough for a HS Football player to say no to Urban Meyer. But I think Everett Withers played a big role in this commitment. Withers has coached a few good D-Ends too. And he definitely already had his eye on Lewis in case he had gotten the Interim Title removed and became UNC's Head Coach, Lewis would have been a big catch for him.

Is Withers at OSU? If so, I didn't realize/remember that. Good point.

Yeah, Withers accepted a job on Meyers staff before UNC's bowl game last year. He is listed as the Assistant Head Coach/Co-Defensive Coordinator

I'm sure I just forgot about it. Good for him.

RE: Tyquan Lewis

What the f_ck is a Tyquan Lewis?

RE: Tyquan Lewis

UNC wanted Tyquan Lewis until Dajuan Drennon (#16 ranked DE and Greg Webb #10 ranked DT) committed on the same day. Left with only 2 available spots, the only commitments UNC was and is willing to take is from either Tyrone Crowder, Dorian Miller, Jonathan Alston, or Marquez North. The first 2 are OL and the others are WR. These are the positions of need now which is at an all time premium due to the scholarship reductions. Any other year or under better timing this year they would have taken Lewis if he wanted UNC. But he no longer had a spot. Such is life when recruiting with scholly reductions. He will be a good one.

^^^ of course there is a real possibility on missing on all of the guys mentioned above. But with only 2 spots left, the UNC staff will take it down to signing day before filling them.

RE: Tyquan Lewis

Nice observations, VFB.

RE: Tyquan Lewis

I saw he had 3 SEC schools, OSU, and UNC on his list. What is it going to take to keep these top recruits in-state?

NC State should have offered.

Yeah, I know. What's Gottfried's excuse? At least Roy can say he was having surgery. ;-)
