Alex Karras passed yesterday. He always seemed to be a personable guy and was a beast on the football field. RIP Alex.

A one of a kind! He not only changed how his position was played, but how offenses defended it. He will certainly be missed.

When the sheriff on Blazin Saddles was told by Gene Wilder that Alex Karras; aka Mongo, was taking a liking to him, Mongo became upset and said, "Ahhh, Mongo straight."
Back in the day, Monday Night Football would start out by showing Mongo punching a horse in the mouth with a rider on top, and knocking that horse out onto the ground. It was absurd, humorous violence leading up to the game.
