Yep, upon further review it's obvious that Vernon could see Rashad coming up from behind him and gave a cheap shot with his back right into the lowered shoulder of Rashad.

you're about as low as a unc football player for trying to justify that dirty cr*p. i'm glad duke doesn't play this dirty program again because unlike them, we have to keep everyone healthy for our bowl game. everyone else left on the schedule are cleaner than unc and that includes fsu, clemson and miami.

Where in my post is any justification made? I simply ask that you make an observation. Could that observation result in you questioning intent is entirely up to the observor. Sorry, haters; doesn't look intentional to me. The Duke player stepped one foot back and the UNC player tripped, got off balance and bumped him.

I don't know if it was intentional or not...it may have been. But I don't think it was a cheap shot regardless. To me, a cheap shot in football is trying to injure somebody...going after their knees, lower legs, head, hitting them excessively hard, etc. Bumping into somebody doesn't qualify as a "cheap shot" to me in football, even if it was intentional.
That said, I believe it should have been a penalty, simply because the defensive player knocked over an offensive player and disrupted the play before they had a chance to run it.
