The nit is not that bad of a deal. Look at how it boosted the self esteem of the 2010 runner-ups. It could become a worthy goal.

Dook fans would know, seeing as Dook has more NIT appearances and fewer NCAAT appearances than UNC.

What do I have to gain by NC State being better than UNC? Duke has to play them twice too. My unbiased eyes see an NC State team that should have no problem sweeping UNC this season, regardless of what happened when UNC had more talent.

LOL...nice one. You're an ABCer....of course you'll come down negative on UNC. Its in your blood.

Roy has more national title rings than he has career losses to NC State. State couldn't even beat UNC's abysmal 2010 team. I like our chances against Gott, a coach who is winless against UNC.

That abysmal 2010 team had more talent and a higher preseason ranking than this group.

Higher preseason ranking, sure. More talent...debatable. Talent isn't everything...the players have to mesh together. The 2010 team didn't do that. This team reminds me of our 2006 team. Not bad to be elite even in your few rebuilding years.

Anyone who actually watched the game saw that Roy played many different combos. A few were good, a few were bad. They will take early lumps but will be fine by the second half of the ACC season.

I think they're going to have a major problem on Nov. 27, when they lose to Indiana by ~40 pts. They might even catch an L against Long Beach State and/or Mississippi State before then. It is NIT going to be a good year for the T-holes.

Thank goodness we play NC State twice then, those two guaranteed wins definitely are helpful each season.

Well, we blew Dook out at Hansbrough Indoor last year, but I admit that we slept on Dook when they came to Chapel Hill. Things happen...that's why you have to play the games.

I didn't think Duke looked that great last night,.... until I saw the replay of the Gardner Webb game.
