Gardner Webb might have pulled a Lehigh if they had played Dook.

I didn't think Duke looked that great last night,.... until I saw the replay of the Gardner Webb game.

Same ole sh@$ from Dook fans. More worried about UNC than their own team. If you think your Dookies looked that great last night, then you need to take off the blinders.

Anyone who actually watched the game saw that Roy played many different combos. A few were good, a few were bad. They will take early lumps but will be fine by the second half of the ACC season.

Higher preseason ranking, sure. More talent...debatable. Talent isn't everything...the players have to mesh together. The 2010 team didn't do that. This team reminds me of our 2006 team. Not bad to be elite even in your few rebuilding years.

Dook fans would know, seeing as Dook has more NIT appearances and fewer NCAAT appearances than UNC.

That abysmal 2010 team had more talent and a higher preseason ranking than this group.

The nit is not that bad of a deal. Look at how it boosted the self esteem of the 2010 runner-ups. It could become a worthy goal.

LOL...nice one. You're an ABCer....of course you'll come down negative on UNC. Its in your blood.

Roy has more national title rings than he has career losses to NC State. State couldn't even beat UNC's abysmal 2010 team. I like our chances against Gott, a coach who is winless against UNC.

Darn glad G-W played their second team most of the game or this sucker could have gotten very ugly for us. Could be a loooooong cold winter ahead.

Unc looks lost out there! They may not win a game against fsu, miami, maryland, duke or state! I dont see them playing past the acc tournament!

  • Unc r Hypocrits Nov 10, 2012

My thinking is that UNC has a lot of very good talent. By February, if no one gets hurt, they will br VERY GOOD, IMHWPO. All 3 triangle teams should give each other fits this year. I see any of those games going either way, assuming everyone is healthy.

    GO PACK!!!

What do I have to gain by NC State being better than UNC? Duke has to play them twice too. My unbiased eyes see an NC State team that should have no problem sweeping UNC this season, regardless of what happened when UNC had more talent.

Because NC State averages one win against Roy every 20 tries, so those are the facts we have to go with until they decide to prove otherwise.

If "you have to play the games", why are you guaranteeing two victories over NC State when they're ranked higher than and look better than you.

Well, we blew Dook out at Hansbrough Indoor last year, but I admit that we slept on Dook when they came to Chapel Hill. Things happen...that's why you have to play the games.

Sorry, think you are mistaken...I'm a UNC fan, not a NC State fan. Agree with your point about State though...they need to upset UNC twice if they want to make it into NCAA tournament discussion.

I think they're going to have a major problem on Nov. 27, when they lose to Indiana by ~40 pts. They might even catch an L against Long Beach State and/or Mississippi State before then. It is NIT going to be a good year for the T-holes.

It was a win. As long as you play this caliber of team you should win. The problems arise Jan 1 when you have to play legitimate teams.
