Actually, it's not really all that obvious. Fake punts are frequently called from the sidelines. Fedora has given our punter the freedom to make that choice when he sees an opening. Yesterday, he just made a poor choice.

Actually, I think his poorest choice took place long before yesterday, when he signed that letter of intent to UNC. That's pretty much a sure-fire way to never play in the NFL, or at least to have an abysmal career if you're lucky enough to be drafted.
