I like it...you do in fact get a "five star" education at the flagship.

And yet they are heads and shoulders above State in every category from sports to academics.

How sad for the inferior ones.

You claimed Military members were people on welfare.

We know your feeling on the military and America, no use in pretending.

I don't think Harvard would give up 68 points in a single game.

Dick Crum quote from back in the 80s when he was head football coach at Carolina, "They want Carolina to be Harvard Monday through Friday, and Oklahoma on Saturday." I think that pretty much sums up the whole problem at Carolina today. You just can't be both without some very sketchy things taking place.

Ha! I guess it could happen but I'd just come back with something about this country being built by the non-nerds!

So in a world of nerds (no offense intended)each school has this little island of kids that, had they not been super jocks at their high school would have been in the military, community college, working construction or at a university with admissions standards that admit regular (non-nerd) studentsI would edit this before one of these trolls without reading comprehension skills starts making false accusations about your patriotism.

Yup. The ABC crowd has been clamoring for UNC's ranking to drop because of the athletic scandal...what they don't understand is that academic rankings basically ignore athete exceptions because they represent such a small portion of the student body.

Totally agree. Athletics and academics are separate, and this list was based on academics.

Well this is talking about academics, not athletics. Football and Basketball players are exceptions (with a few exceptions to that) to the standards each of these schools requires. Basically a HS student has to be in the top 5% of their class to even get considered. So in a world of nerds (no offense intended)each school has this little island of kids that, had they not been super jocks at their high school would have been in the military, community college, working construction or at a university with admissions standards that admit regular (non-nerd) students. Lets keep this all in perspective. :)

Simply being superior to the wusspack athletically does not make dook the leader.

Superior academics, sure. Athletics...not so much. Duke's best program is basketball and they are second-rate to UNC in that.
