Oooooooooooooh my goodness, Coach Williams knew

about the scandal and said nothing. Coach ! Does this mean you will take early retirement? Plan on holding a news conference? Will you coach some place else? A lot of unanswered questions. So it has come to this. A sad day in basketball, A real sad day for a university.

It would be hard to imagine that any coach didn't know what classes his players took or that players weren't academically able to perform college work. Also hard to imagine a coach wouldn't know this was going on and being covered up. Come clean huckleberry or are those two banners more important than your integrity?

Ooooooooooh my goodness, jimmygreen64 (and, apparently, the folks at the N&O) didn't know what every Div I student, alum, and BB coach in the country knows: football and basketball players in general have easier classes.

That would be a step up from having 'no classes', the way UNC does it.

Guess someone will have to ask Mr. Walden if he told his good buddy Roy Williams what he was doing with Roy's players before 2009. He should Lawyer-Up first, I should think.

Not an expert, but if the basketball players took classes that were open to everyone at UNC-CH, and were graded to the same standard as non-athletes in the classes, there is probably no NCAA violation and almost certainly no legal issue. That doesn't make it good, but I am at least glad that the basketball program started cleaning its own nest in 2009. And I don't believe Roy is culpable at all.

Roy is right smack in the middle of this and you would have to be insane to think otherwise. If this were State or Duke in this scandal you would probably say it's different
