I didn't criticize dook. I just straightened out the idiots who think dook scheduled games that were part of tournaments.

So you still are criticizing Duke because we didn't play Kentucky in the right year in a random selection event.

So, we can take that as a "you are correct, they had no say in playing each other this year after they agreed to be in the tournament". dook had no control over whether they got Ky last year when they were strong, or this year when they are down a little, or next year, when .... who knows?

When you commit to something called "The Champions Classic", you're assuming the other three teams are other Champions (ie, no one on UNC's OOC schedule). When and where doesn't matter as long as you know each of the next three games, you are going to play one of the other champions at least once per season.

No, dook hasn't won it, but, apparently they are leading:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Champions_ClassicCorrect, they had no say. Once they committed to being in the tournament, organizers decided who played when and where.

You mean the winners of the first two games played each other the next day for the championship.

I must have been drugged that day and missed the championship game. Darn, did Duke win?

So what you are saying is that Duke and Kentucky had no say in playing each other this year. If you believe that, i have some ocean front property in North Dakota for sale. Great view.

Wait! Kentucky went to the NIT last year? We lost by one point on the Rupp Arena floor and if I remember correctly, Kentucky won the Title. Stop trying to justify to yourself that dook plays a tough schedule because they don't.
Wonder how badly the dook boys would have been beaten by the Kentucky team of last season? Prolly worse than the slackpack got beat by OSU.

To all of you who think you are fully aware of whats happening in the scheduling of college basketball games. All of the schedules are made in advance and most of the non-conference games are just this, tune up games for the regular conference. Carolina plays cup-cakes to award players so they can at least play one game close to home, others have coaches who have played or coach at the school and helps them with their programs. So please grow up and pay attention to your own school. It seems that you are more worried about what the others are doing than your own. And this is for every schools fans. UNC,State and duke

LOL, based on the 4 games played and a overrated Kensucky team. Don't get your panties in a wad but this will change as more games are played and the ranking become clearer. right now, the ranking are all skewed because all the DA's that think Kensucky is going to be great with an all new team and NC State was going to be a NC contender. UNLV ranked #18
Texas is a solid program regardless of how you portray them.

Honestly, I would go thru that schedule "fact" and rip it apart 1 season at a time, but it would take too long. Playing Kentucky during their NIT years is nothing to beat your chest about.

You lost to them last year, we beat them this year.

My personal favorite is the 2007/08 year "Kentucky, Ohio St" ... both of which were unranked. Kentucky finished 18-13, Ohio St finished 19-13.

Ohio St didn't even make the NCAA Tournament, Kentucky was beaten by Marquette in the 1st round.

    Talk about a tough schedule..

And for those who are calling out UNC's schedule, particularly the ones thumping their chests about Duke playing Kentucky, UNC has played Kentucky for the last 12 SEASONS IN A ROW and multiple times in the post season.
OOC regular season games in the Roy Williams era:
    03/04: Kentucky, Illinois, Uconn
    04/05: Kentucky, Indiana, Tennessee, Uconn
    05/06: Kentucky, Illinois, Arizona
06/07: Kentucky, Ohio St, Gonzaga, Tennessee
07/08: Kentucky, Ohio St 08/09: Kentucky, Notre Dame, Mich St 09/10: Kentucky, Texas, Mich St, Ohio St, Syracuse 10/11: Kentucky, Texas, Illinois, Vanderbilt 11/12: Kentucky, Texas, Mich St, UNLV, Wisconsin 12/13: Indiana, UNLV, Texas

No apologies needed for these schedules.

You may take a 20pt beating at Indiana, but at least they will bump up your SOS.
