Criminal Probe For UNC?

Criminal Probe For UNC?

If it will get to the core of this issue, then it is justified. There are far too many rumors floating around. It is time for the WHOLE truth to come out, no matter what the ramifications may be. As I said on the WRAL story, I love my Alma Mater, but this has gone far beyond ridiculous. I just want EVERYONE to come clean. That is the only way to start to rebuild the reputation of this once highly esteemed University.

RE: Criminal Probe For UNC?

I do to. And they will. Be patient. If you are not happy afterward then say so but an in depth investigation is not going to happen in one week. Saw the Goolsby article. Pretty irresonsible. Here's the issue "criminal activity" would mean a federal or GS has been violated. The attorney general needs to be going after fraud, drug dealers, theft, etc. Just not sure a "criminal probe" is necessary in an "academic" situation. The only thing that could be considered "criminal" would be misappropriation of public funds or perjury to an investigation. Now if that is what he is trying to do, "compel" the truth using the specter of perjury/jailtime, then he may have a point. Witch hunts though will do nothing to get to the bottom of what has happened at UNC.

I think most people would call filing expense reports for personal expenses "fraud." They would probably also say embezzlement constitutes criminal activity.

RE: Criminal Probe For UNC?

I think that if there were criminal activity then it would have already been done. According to sources the SBI is investigating, and Gov. Martin is there. This guy worked for Gov. Martin. Is he calling Governor Martin a liar as well? The University is going through the proper method of correcting the problems at UNC. The Senator has plenty of work trying to solve the problems of the State. Fixing I-95, balancing the budget, voter fraud, etc. are more important issues than a criminal investigation at UNC. I know as UNC Law School Grad, the is tired of reading all the krap from Dan Kane. He!! I am too, but to go off half ed is uncessary.
For the group wanting to destroy UNC, your biggest revenue games are against UNC. If you're not playing UNC, they you're not filling the seats and only hurting your ownself. Since UNC is not going to a bowl game this year, and can't earn any money for your school, thank you for going to a bowl and sharing the revenue with us.
Maybe this will be the final straw to let Carolina know they need to get the He!! out of the ACC and as far away from the REDRAGE as possible. Let's see how well you do when we aren't around.

Go back and read the entire article. If someone embezzled money them I'm for arresting that person. Anyone commits a crime, I'm for arresting them.

Petty stuff. Goolsby is not even concerned about that. He's pizzed, and lost his cool in an article. I can appreciate his pasion for wanting to get to the truth. But misuse of public funds happens everywhere, everyday. With limited resources, I'd say a hearing before the house/senate of NC would be more appropriate before an investigation. Let Martin finish his work and then "release the hounds" if necessary after that. Sometimes, you can find out quite a bit more truth in stealth/quiet that with a big public display like you put on every Saturday night on Hay Street.

bullshot............. .Why does the n and O have to get court orders to revile the corruption. It Has been going on for 20 years and the UNC trusties knew about it. That is called aiding and abetting. It happens to be a felony. They are covering their own azz'z. Now the local police is also involved they knew and reused to investigate.

Walter, when you post I'm reminded there are those in the IQ of the Blogosphere that are on the extreme far left in that area between 0 and .1 of the bell curve.

Mr. WRAL Moderater, school him...

RE: Criminal Probe For UNC?

They can't even prove any new NCAA violations and now they want a criminal probe? Yeah, right.

RE: Criminal Probe For UNC?

revile the corruption?
revile - Criticize in an abusive or angrily insulting manner. Isn't that what the N&O is doing?

RE: Criminal Probe For UNC?

How will the investigators even get IN to the town without armored cars and a military escort?

From what I read on here, Chapel Hill now resembles something like
the post-apocalyptic, lawless, crime ridden city depicted in Escape from New York starring Curt Russell (1981).

LOL..or is that just what these ABCers (who think the Old Well is on Franklin Street lol) -- who've never been there -- imagine the town is like in their endless, paranoid delusions?

I can just see them clutching their man-purses tightly as they wander around during the state college away games, or when they visit A Sudden Season with their mothers in tow...roflmao! "Let's Get Outta Here Mommy, I'm Scared!" lolol
