UNC 8-4, State 7-5, Dook 6-6

UNC 8-4, State 7-5, Dook 6-6

Congrats UNC for finishing with the best record of any ACC team in the state of North Carolina.

RE: UNC 8-4, State 7-5, Dook 6-6

I'm proud of the Heels, especially the seniors who could have left and played immediately for another school. Big thanks to them, and also to Gio who played with all his heart every game. Have to give congrats to State and Duke and wish them well in their bowl games. I thought of every game Carolina played as their bowl, so this 8-game winning season is special.

RE: UNC 8-4, State 7-5, Dook 6-6

Fedora did a fine job in his first year at Carolina. He was given quite a bit of talent to work with but that same talent was there last year. Though everyone is a year older this season (and a year more mature physically) the offense, in particular, looked much better this year. Fedora's first recruiting class will likely be inside the national top 25 and there is still a couple of high profile players who have Carolina in their final list that could push that class well inside the top 20. Butch Davis could recruit very, very well. Fedora's first effort is on par with an average Davis class. Not too shabby. I think the arrow is pointing up.

Cutcliffe, it goes without saying, did a great job this year. He has done a lot in a few years. There's no comparison where Duke is today as opposed to when Cutcliffe arrived. If he ever starts to bring in top 30 recruiting classes, and I think he's very capable of doing that, Duke's gonna be a good football team every year. The arrow is very much pointing up for Duke.

State? Hard to read where they are precisely. They could field a team next year that wins 7 or 8 or they could go 4-8. They aren't recruiting very well but TOB always seems to put a team on the field that surprises you (in more ways than one). Fundamentally sound coach but it just feels like the program has peaked under his leadership. They could use some momentum from somewhere. I see the arrow has pointing down.

But yet cheated to accomplish it so they are ineligible for a bowl.

33-30

RE: UNC 8-4, State 7-5, Dook 6-6

Unc finished with the best record but did not have to play Fla St or Clemson thanks to Swofford Scheduling 101. Best of luck to Duke and BC State in the bowls.

RE: UNC 8-4, State 7-5, Dook 6-6

ASU 8-3 & ECU 8-4 With a chance to make a championship run for the mountaineers and a bowl for the pirates

unc's 8 wins came against teams that are 34-52,duke has gone from 6-2 to 6-6, NCSU is the only one to beat a ranked team this yr....big 4 has duke 2-0, NCSU 1-1, wake forest 1-2, unc 1-2(loses tie-breaker based on head-to-head loss to wfu)

Gotta love that upward wolffie trajectory trend.

Compare who they had to play.

RE: UNC 8-4, State 7-5, Dook 6-6

None of them came close to winning their division much less the conference. It is sad that we here in NC have so little to stand on in terms of FBS football. ECU did finish tied for first in their division of CUSA but lost the tie breaker to UCF since they lost to them, and in the FCS ASU tied with Georgia Southern but I think wins the tie breaker since they beat them head to head.

Wow, at face value, that sounds impressive....but they lost to Duke and WFU in-state, and didn't have to play Clemson or FSU.....Hey, and I don't hate UNC, as I had family that went there, and pull for them when they play anyone but Duke....but lets try to be objective...I like Fedora, and know his offense will always be explosive...question is can he develop a tough defense?
