You might want to re-read Kane's article. That isn't what was said. I admit you have to be extremely careful when reading anything written by Kane. He strings ideas, opinions, and supposed facts together trying to support his hypothesis. But he really needs an editor (sort of like a tutor, but something real newspapers used to have). He doesn't properly identify his sources, and tends to attribute his ideas as facts, while often mixing up the sources for his various "facts". Citing your own opinion in an earlier article still does not qualify it as a fact.

I already took apart Dan Kane's pathetic efforts with Willingham three weeks age. For examples of problems with this this week's steaming Kane piles, start with him trying to associate actions in the spring of 2006 with Holden, particularly difficult since Thorp did not even become dean of Arts & Sciences until 2007. In my earlier posts I already raised the issues of Kane misconstruing the statements of Willingham and their context. He also double quoted HIMSELF as a factual source. Referencing your own work as purportedly factual might be allowed if your earlier work is in a recognized, peer-reviewed academic journal. A signed sports column online (and revised) in the N&O is not to that standard -- Kane is a step below TBK, much less jgunn.

I will wait on Gov Martin's report. He has fairly high credidibility, as opposed to DK who has almost none.

( Why weren't you out golfing instead of posting here during the day today? Your weather should have been even better than ours this week. We may have late starts later this week. My course is usually closed on Mondays, so I try to work some then. )
