State definitely needs to improve on D. We enjoyed the Stanford win and all, but to be honest, if we were playing a team that could hit their shots, that might have been a loss.

State is going to be good....they have to improve Def a little but i think State is right where they need to be. Duke vs State is going to be awesome this year!!

That was precisely my question. They were ranked #23-25 in most polls. Therefore, this one goes down as an upset. But they were clearly OVERRANKED. So should it still be considered an upset?

Thanks for helping me clarify what I was asking.

no, that was just a whoppin by one bad team on another bad team.....end story now.

He has a freshman PG to back him up. That PG just needs some experience, but he's getting there.

There is no comparison between the two. Carolina is horrible, with no reason to expect better. State lost at Michigan, and lost to Oklahoma State before anyone knew they were worthy of being ranked. We have one bad loss, but now have four straight wins and very good prospects of winning the next five. And we're improving each game.

State should be ranked in the top 10-15. Carolina should consider themselves lucky if they're still in the top-40 at this point.

Before you start down this road State and Duke both won and and showed good ability. With out Hess unc is humiliated. again and again and again. Now even the announcers are commenting on the bad officiating.

it is funny to me as well, because as a Duke fan, I knew we were in trouble when they put the bracket out on Sunday. Duke couldn't stop anyone with a decent guard, and I knew all about McCollum.

You contradict yourself well. If they were overranked, as you put it, then how could it have been an upset?

    ^^^^what???

    ^^^that's 7, by my count.
and, Vandy has been getting more and more PT as the season has gone on.... 8 is plenty, just ask K.

well since purvis and brown both start i dont see purvis playing alot of point...agree lewis CAN be nice just still developing...they basically playing 6 guys right now, but im sure gott will have that changed by conference time.

actually.... Ty Lewis has been improving (gaining confidence) nicely.

and, Rodney Purvis is more than capable of running the point, if the Pack is in a pinch.

front court depth is far more of an issue, than PG play for the Pack.

    just another fyi!

  • blueduke4 Dec 20, 2012

State is gonna have real issues as the season progresses if they expect Brown to play 40 minutes every game. Hopefuly they can work out the depth issues.

with an rpi of 8, a sked strength of 7, and 2 losses to top 25 teams who are a combined 20-1, i would say that NCSU is living up to expectations, so far...#6 to #25 is a smokescreen

  • mcone1 Dec 20, 2012

Says the Fan of the team that was preseason #6 and is now #25. Both of our teams have not lived up to their expectations.

No! That's why I didn't feel like Duke loss last year to Lehigh was an upset.

Is it still an upset... when an overranked team, that everyone KNOWS is overranked, loses to an unranked team that everyone KNOWS is much better than the overranked team?
