RE: Do you all count that title in 1924???

Since there was no tournament in which to determine a National Championship, I question the claim. It was awarded by a media outlet at the time, not by any authority within the colleges/universities. That does not ignore the fact that the UNC team that year was superior to many others, it just was not a title won in competition.

What difference does it make? No one cares about it whether it was 88 years ago or 100.

Neither is any NCAA football championship before the BCS but I challenge you to convince Alabama, Notre Dame, Nebraska, and all the others that they're claim to national title is no good.

football is a whole different monster. There are some years when as many as 4 teams claim national titles.
