View quoted thread The Phoenix Suns already knew that former first-round pick Kendall Marshall could pass the ball. His passing ability is quite amazing. But they needed him to improve in other areas of his game while he went through a stint with the D-League team in Bakersfield. Nine games into his stint and the same sentiment remains when it comes to Marshall's game.

He averaged 7.6 assists per game, good for the league lead. That's nothing new. But he shot the ball at a dismal 31.3 percent from the field, never cracking the 40-percent mark in any of his games. His inability to convert on the offensive end was one of the primary reasons he couldn't win the backup point guard job with the Suns. The current backup is Sebastian Telfair, who isn't exactly shooting the lights out but is a better shooter than Marshall at a 37.7 percent clip.

Marshall will continue workouts with player development coordinator Lindsey Hunter upon his return to the Suns.

K-Butter is actually back on the Suns' bench now. He led the D-League in assists when he was there, but still not much of a scoring threat.

K-Butter gonna be fine. It takes a while for most PGs to develop in the League. I hope he's enjoying his million$.

    And...Look on the bright side:

He can never harm state college again.

  • Wolfpocalypse Now Dec 23, 2012

Rick James McDooDoo should leave, because I'm tired of watching his weak inside game, his weaker midrange jumper, and I'm even more tired of hearing about his sorry a$&. He'll probably go mid-late first round, and then get shipped off to the D-league to join Marshmallow, or K-Butter, or whatever that absurd nickname was for that floppy-wristed point guard UNC had last year who couldn't cut it in the NBA.

I honestly don't think he's anywhere near ready to play in the NBA. Sure, he'd get drafted...then he'd ride pine for awhile. The kid should stick around for another year or two. He would be lethal his senior year and everyone knows it. I don't think that'll happen, though. He's gone after this season.

12 against mcneese st today. that should have some nba scouts drooling.

if mj ends up with another #2 pick, jmm should go there if #1 passes on him.

C'mon man don't go laughing at us. Let us at least have something to brag about. Don't you realize how tough it is for us find a silver lining these days. We've even been forced to find comfort in the fact that the academic cheating wasn't just limited to athletes but available to the wider student body at large.

I think no matter how this season plays out, MacAdoo is gone whne it's over. He warmed the bench last year until so many players were lost to injury. JMM stepped up to the plate and performed very well, but he hasn't picked up where he left off. It may be unfair to expect him to be a leader, he's a sophomore who didn't get much playing time as a freshman.

Preach it brother! We might be an unranked, divided team, and they might be number 1 in every poll and have the leading POY candidate, but we are pwning ur draft position! Yes!

If he does he'll go higher than Plumlee. Who has been at Duke 3 years and can't shoot a jumpshot.

It depends on how the rest of his season plays out. I was hoping he would go last season, while his stock was high. I think he is rushing things and putting too much pressure on himself. I think that he will get better as the season progresses.

    GO HEELS!!

No doubt he leaves. He's most likely figuring out that he SHOULD have left after last season. But in defense of his decision to stay, he's probably getting paid better at UNC than he would have in the NBA.

As long as he's better than J.J. Hickson or Damien Wilkens...state college's ONLY two NBA "superstars" right now. LOL!

Agreed. I think he'll have about as much success in the NBA as Ed Davis as well.

Whatever his decision, I wish the best for him. Still don't understand the hate against the youngmen playing the game. You have to have a pretty poor existence when you wish for youngmen to fail no matter the school they play for.

  • Coach C Dec 21, 2012

Yes! if his stock is still up there.McAdoo was a roll player on last years talent filled team, this season he has to be a leader on a rebuilding team and he hasn't adjusted well at all to his new role. If his stock is up he needs to go and get paid.

Pretty good one. He has to come on strong to have a chance. Another year may help him develop his skills. Just an opinion. Who knows?

    I got a li'l chuckle outta that. :)

Sounds like something that might really be heard, coming from a disjointed locker room.

He sees the writing on the wall. I am surprised he is still there. It is hard to soar with eagles when you play with turkeys.

  • Last Word Dec 21, 2012

considering how far his stock could drop this season, he may stay for his junior year. Right now he doesnt look like the player that got so much hype last year.

  • 903 mens national championships Dec 21, 2012

After he signs with an agent, he will take a light fall in a game and end up in a cast for the rest of the season so he can minimize the drop in his draft stock.

    Basically what Ed Davis did.

He's probably still cursing that debacle of a decision he made last year. He won't be dumb enough to let Roy hoodwink him again.

You think he has had enough? He knows next year this will REALLY be his team. Is he up for that or does he "go onnnn and take your money and run"

I predict he will show up on an agent's website as a client before February.

I believe he has the potential to if he so chooses. The things he is lacking can be all gained through experience and coaching. He has all the untangibles. I just wonder if this season is leaving a bad taste in his mouth and will push him to return for his junior season.
