Most dookies are utterly incapable of making this distinction. Poor things.

    Thanks for keeping it real.

He did start for a few years, during which the Giants had one of the worst offenses in the NFL. And, costing a first rounder is not the same as being a first round pick. He might have been if he'd been in the regular draft, but we'll never know.

The Flagship is so proud of Peppers. He may have never passed a remedial math course in 3 years at my beloved flagship, but he has so many pro bowls! And then he gave the flagship a large check for it! Suck it wuffies!

The Pro Bowl game itself has evolved into a glorified flag football competition.

That said, selection is still a very high honor...

Currently, players are voted into the Pro Bowl by the coaches, the players themselves, and the fans. Each group's ballots count for one third of the votes. The fans vote online at the NFL's official website. There are also replacements that go to the game should any selected player be unable to play due to injuries. Prior to 1995, only the coaches and the players made Pro Bowl selections.

In order to be considered a Pro Bowler for a given year, a player must either have been one of the initial players selected to the team, or a player who accepts an invitation to the Pro Bowl as an alternate; invited alternates who decline to attend are not considered Pro Bowlers. Being a Pro Bowler is considered to be a mark of honor, and players who are accepted into the Pro Bowl are considered to be elite.

Clarkston Hines and Dave Brown are two that come to mind and there a quite a few more.

Dave Brown was a 1st round pick and started for the Giants.

I guess its more of a joke when no one from your team gets selected (cough cough Phillip Rivers Mario Williams cough cough), yet two perennial STUDS from The Flagship make the cut, huh?

This will be Peppers 8th Pro Bowl, and the 6th for Saturday. GO HEELS!!!!

Wow torpedohead is so full of anguish I almost have sympathy for him. It is truely a sad individual. I feel for its family. (Wolfers thought pattern = If no state players are on it then it must be a bad thing) ROFLMAO!!!!

Nope. Pro bowl is a joke like most all star events. It's a giant flag football game. I haven't watched it in years and don't intend to start watching this year. But hey, celebrate your 2 players on the flag football squad!

It wouldn't matter if 100,000 showed up....there still wouldn't be any state college or dookie players voted onto the team.

Is that what has you all gloomy?

Congrats. Must be weird for Jeff Saturday to be demoted to second string but voted to the Pro Bowl in the same two week period. Class guy all the way though.
