Here in Arizona every just calls the state kollege "wolfers"! No one likes them as they all say the fans are too arrogant and ignorant.

Cool. It was known on a national scale in 2010 when the bling issues first came out. Your coworkers must be severely behind the times.

In more recent news, UNC has been "exposed" on a national scale as being the #1 best value public university in the country for the 12th consecutive time, the #5 public university in the country period, and one of the top 40 most prestigious universities on the planet. And that's just this year. Times are good for the flagship!

    LOL

    but, but, but.....

    unCHEAT.

it is what it is.... and, it's KNOWN on a NATIONAL SCALE now.

having co-workers (in Cali) crack on pastel pansy U (they call it that, now that I've informed them that it's the school's OFFICIAL NICKNAME) is more than plenty for me.

Oh, they deemed that UNC cheated years ago, just like they deemed that NC State cheated multiple times years ago. We've already been punished for our transgressions and have moved on. Sounds like you haven't though...seems like a personal problem.

    ^^^^LOL

so you're saying the NCAA did NOT deem that unc has CHEATED???

WOW, I smell a lawsuit coming from pastel pansy U.

this should be great.... 3+ MORE YEARS of jelly-of-the-month!!

    canNOT wait!!!

I understand that reading isn't a strength of yours. You should probably bow out of this discussion now that you've admitted that you have no idea what you are talking about.

The NCAA deemed that some overt cheating took place... I didn't read the details of their findings... As I don't recognize varying degrees of cheating... As there are NO honest degrees.

    Cheat much, pansy??

I believe the NCAA already established that pastel U CHEATS, and got caught doing so.

Remember when the pansies got to play for the ACC Championship/went bowling???

I believe the official report doesn't state that the coaches steered players. That would be cheating!

Sure they were, lil fella... Sure they were.

The profs were merely doing as they were instructed to do... And the coaches steered the kids to those fraudulent classes, ad nauseam.

The athletic department was a casualty of two rogue professors on the Academic side with their own agenda! It's a shame the innocent have had to pay the price!

For the NCAA to change or be eliminated, the schools will have to do it. The NCAA derives its power from the schools it oversees. Every NCAA school, including the one you cheer for, are responsible for the debacle known as the NCAA. But in order for the schools to collectively have a functional athletic enterprise, they will need an organizing/regulating body, which is currently the NCAA. If they get rid of the NCAA it will have to be replaced by what amounts to a new NCAA.
The only attempt at a solution I can think of is if a movement begins amongst the member schools to change the way the NCAA functions and what its responsibilities are. But the need for a common regulating body is essential if there is to be intercollegiate athletics.
Another idea is that maybe large super conferences can self regulate. To keep conferences from cheating as a whole, it can be set up that an equal number of teams from each conference can make the postseason playoff. That could help prevent conferences from cheating their way into all the bowl games.

Will be nice if eventually the schools can create a better way to organize their bowls/tourneys and keep an eye on one another for cheating without needing the ncaa.

The last act by Bev..too little too late. She should have just made them forfeit as she suggested. Less embarassing that way.

    Yup.

Dick baddour and co. Oversaw a decade+++ long cheating scandal at pastel U.... That's far more greasy than anything V ever did while at State.

Also, the '83 team had NO violations according to the NCAA, and the '74 team had ALREADY paid their "fine" by being excluded from post season play the year prior, in spite of going UNdefeated.

Another swing and a miss, by another embarrassed pansy.

    Rather telling...
    And even more funny!

Not going to happen! If State College kept their 74' and 83' banners up Duke will keep theirs! Was there ever anyone as corrupt as V?

Totally agree. And I don't think they are the least bit surprised by the Governors actions. I think they have been expecting someone to challenge their ongoing attempt at being a branch of the US government. A perfect example of Agenda 21.

We need to join Penn. St. in the lawsuit, also. If the NCAA had kept their nose out of our business, with no classes and guaranteed grades, we could have probably kept that dang bell.

Who cares about grades, they were recruited to win games not to perform brain surgery.

Yeah, as terrible as the entire situation at psu was, the ncaa penalties seemed overly harsh to incoming classes and the huge financial penalty smacked of an extorted money grab. Although the stated purpose for the money might sound admirable, the ncaa would hardly seem the most trustworthy organization to administer such a program, which is ill-defined at best at this point. I personally believed that any such fines should have had at their core a desire to recompense the actual victims in the case. As it was, it seemed the ncaa just wanted to hit the trough first.

Thought it was newsworthy. I personally think the NCAA will be shunned by the major schools within 10 years and will cease to exist as we know it. I also hope they do.
The NCAA is nothing more that legalized mafia. Just like the unions of this country.

Sorry I don't know how to make it link easy.
