So Many Ineffective Parts on UNC's Roster

The 4 Freshmen combined for 5 pts.
Leslie McDonald had 0pts in 13min.
Starting backcourt (Strick, Paige) combined for 5assts, 2TO's, and 6pts on 3-14 shooting.
The 3 Centers combined for 5pts and 8rbs.
No one had more than 7rbs.
Reggie Bullock scored nearly 1/2 of UNC's points.

Oh yeah, the defense was horrible, and the chemistry is clearly a problem.

Saw Hairston get frustrated multiple times with Strickland, mainly on the 2 forced, contested airball jumpers in the 2nd half.

Maybe Roy should threaten to shoot them with his BB gun if they don't play better. Or tell them he'll go Haiti on their rear ends.

It seems like the McDonald/Strickland/Hairston/Bullock fight for minutes and stats is starting to create inproblems within the UNC team. All 4 of these guys believe they are NBA talent, when in reality only Bullock and Hairston have NBA futures.

Roy-- why did you recruit & sign 4 SG's in a 3 year period?

Why UNC lost: The Tar Heels were trailing 53-50 with a little more than two minutes left when senior Dexter Strickland inexplicably pulled up for a jumper -- instead of trying to get the ball to Bullock, who had scored the team's previous eight points -- and airballed it. Credit Virginia's defense for some of the lack of poise; but it was another example of the Tar Heels rushing shots instead of patiently trying to find the right ones, something fans had already witnessed in previous losses this season.

PJ should have smacked him in the mouth! At the end of the day this all comes down to coaching. My starting lineup would be:

Strickland -pg
Hairston - sh
Bullock -sf
McAdoo - of
Johnson - c

Play your best players and ask the others to embrace their roles! Williams has dug a hole with this team. I hope they can find chemistry and win a few more games.

Relax. According to marked, they lost because UVa has Jontel Evans. Fortunately for UNC, they only have to deal with that juggernaut when they play UVa.

If evans is the reason, what is going to happen when they play better pg's as acc play progresses? Just as i said a month ago, lack of great pg play hurts this team and the "style" roy insists on coaching.

Exactly. If "Jontel Evans" is a juggernaut... can't wait to see what Quinn Cook, Lorenzo Brown, Michael Snaer, and Shane Larkin do to Paige.
