The Tar Heels beat Maryland 3 times this season to get to this point, something the dookies could not do.

Beat Miami and then you can say something.

    Yep.

    Gotta just love the Internets.

There are lots more like this, (state college and dookie ABC'rs chest-thumping in December and January LOL!) and they will also come to the surface.

Hee hee hee! Good Times! #TAPROOTBLOOD!!!!

Today's game is just a "players only" game.

It's only players from The Flagship, and The University of Miami, playing for the ACC Crown.

Everyone else (Kiwi, Gott-fired, et al) will be watching from their sofas.

Judging by what happened in that 2nd half last night I don't think it helped. 7 minutes w/o a basket was probably one thing no on expected to happen.

Embarrassing, is what it was if you were a dookie. (Thank god I was not.)

Just like you can never erase 1924, or 1957.

    (Sorry about those, too.)

I swear it is really easy to pick out the posters that don't actually watch any of the games they talk about on this forum. So Lux, how was it way back in 1990 no one gives a shat anymore ville?

1990. Are we not allowed to go back that far, or something? I know you dookies have very specific time parameters when things are "allowed" to be discussed, so thought I would ask.

Here's one account. Look forward to your defenses, your denials and your deflections.

THV, I really think the upper classmen are going to wake up tonight. They are coming off a tough loss, they are at home, and I'm sure Roy chewed them hard. Expect much more toughness out of the Heels tonight. Despite all of that, Miami may still win, tough, gritty team that can give ANYONE in the acc fits.

In other words, you thought me to be pragmatic, but you responded to me by trying to make me out to be a hater. So you wanted to portray me as something that even you thought I wasn't, in an attempt to discredit me.

    You've been busted.

And what does the student newspaper have to do with UNCheat players having a meeting?

And on a side note, I don't hate UNC at all. ACC basketball is much better when both of the blue bloods are dominant, and the rivalry is a thing of legend. I would want it no other way.

  • blueduke4 Jan 10, 2013
    Sports Legend

No I'm not, just pointing out the obvious. If this team was not struggling there would be no need for this type of meeting, bottom line.

Maybe Roy should do what Kiwi does, and call the school newspaper staff into his office to cuss them out for not writing "positive" articles about his team.

Would that make it all better?

You obsessed, embittered ABC'ers think its a "bad thing" when Flagship U. players tie their shoes in the morning, or enjoy a soft drink.

Face it: you're obsessed with all things Flagship U.

  • blueduke4 Jan 10, 2013
    Sports Legend

First off, anyone who thinks a players only meeting is a "good thing" has lost it. If they were plaing well and up to their potential they would not need this meeting. With that being said, it may not be entirely bad either, you are what you are at this point in the season, maybe it will work, maybe it wont, but having to actually do it is a problem for a program as storied as this one.

Well, with your 1972 posts as of this minute, and 90% of them about UNC, and the previous ~35K posts with 90% of them about UNC, I'd say you care more than just about anyone on all things UNC. If it takes 1 min. to post, it means you have wasted approximately 20 days of your life as of this moment worrying about UNC. Keep a hating Badger, I like to consider it a form of hero worship.

It would be so much more beneficial if they each decided to "keep to themselves". sulk, and hope for the best for this young team.

I disagree in that sometimes the young men need to address themselves as to a wake up call. this does not take the coach out of play but does show more ownership by the players themselves with the problem at hand, in this case winning, teamwork etc. I think it is silly to say players should not ever hold their own meetings. In the past I have heard of this being the case even with professional teams and major improvements shown after it occurred!

If this is a good thing perhaps they should consider a players only game.

  • TruthisKnown Jan 9, 2013

I agree that this is a very positive move by the players to make an improvement in teamwork and their atitudes towards one another as well as winning.

  • 1988Dukegrad Jan 9, 2013
    Sports Legend

Well, I'm glad the players are doing this, at least they care enough to try something, however, I'm disappointed that they have to do this. Maybe these meetings are more commonplace or maybe we just didn't hear about them back in the day, but I don't recall Dean's players having private meetings amongst themselves. I think all of Dean's players listened and obeyed like it was the gospel.

  • FAN72 Jan 9, 2013

Maybe this team meeting will pull the team together as a team and not a group of talented players that are all on the court at one time. Chemistry is a key to any successful program. I say bravo to Bullock for taking the initiative.
