First off, defending the play of UNC's bigs is impossible, they are terrible right now. They may get better, but I only see that happening when Paige "get's it", if he ever does. May have to wait till Britt comes in next season to see this teams full potential. Miami by 8 tonight.

I wasn't talking about next year. I'm talking about the sorry team that's on the floor this season. Could you imagine how much better UNC would be right now if they had Purvis instead of Paige? Or if they had TJ Warren?

Yeah....cuz having the #5 ranked incoming class next year = "getting obliterated".

Typical state college "assessment of the situation." ROFL

    Poor state college.

Doesn't matter if you can't score.

#Slap#FACTS see how stoopid that looks at the end of a statement.

Why is the non-HOFer obliterating the HOFer on the recruiting trail?

Maybe the HOFer has been exposed and word's getting around?

Unfortunatley, I can't argue with a thing in your post, because it's all true.

Roy is known for having success when he has a dominant team.

This year, not so much. And it is showing.

The Hall of Fame says "Hi, Roy".

Then the Hall of Fame says,

    Gott who?

Yeah, UNC bigs are awesome. James, Hubert, and Johnson combined for a whopping 5pts vs Virginia. Total and complete domination by UNC's bigs.

Yet they've hit 18 fewer FGs than their daddies to the West. Oh well.

We were talking about "bigs" anyway. If you want to talk about FG%, you should start 17 new threads about that.

State is the top FG% shooting team in the country, I think, so carolina has many more bricks to haul down.

Our bigs sure do out-perform state college's on the boards though!.

    Rebounds total:
    Flagship U.: 617
    state college: 502Rebound Margin:
    Flagship U.: +6
    state college: +1.6

    SLAP!

it's ok with me if it would help. no chemistry is the biggest problem. You can't run like Roy likes to run without it. n the half court the lack of toughness rears it's ugly head.

They are "as soft as Charmin". I kinda expected to see Mr Whipple come out at halftime of their game at UVa. and give them a big ol' squeeze.

If this team wants to win the NIT, they are going to have to find some toughness.

D: North Carolina -- I watched North Carolina's loss to Virginia on Sunday -- and I also saw the Tar Heels get blown out against Texas last month -- and I'm shocked at how mediocre this team is. I realize UNC lost its top four players from last year's squad, but there are still good pieces on that roster. Reggie Bullock, James Michael McAdoo, P.J. Hairston, Dexter Strickland & Co. are too good to be getting punked by a Texas squad that probably won't make the NCAA tournament for the first time in 14 years and a Virginia team that is incredibly well-coached but not nearly as gifted. North Carolina lacks leadership, chemistry, fire and, most of all, toughness.
