What is the one thing Coach Williams should work on in practice tomorrow?

0-2 says VERY hiney-hurt!

You might want to bring your A game next time.

study early exits again.

The court won't be overrun by drunken Florida 'necks this time if they win, like it was last time.

Roy will have no need to (wisely) resort to prudent security measures to protect his players. That only tends to happen when The Flagship is highly ranked.

You mean the way he protected those walk-ons last year ?

Link to their needing protection?

DERP!!

The walk-ons didn't need protection, nobody knew who the hell they were.

It was the NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED players: The Falcon, Z-Man, K-Butter and Gumby needed the protection. Lots of drunken, gun-toting Tallahassee 'necks would love to get a shot in at one of them trying to leave the court. Roy understans this, he sees the star power of The Flagship when they play on the road. Not his fault that you don't.

So the walk-ons don't need protection? In other words, you're saying they're expendable, kinda like the Seals in Benghazi. LOL @ how clueless some can be. No player should be left behind like that.

Given the way the NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED HEELS are playing this season, this shouldn't be a concern if the 'Noles win.

RE: What is the one thing Coach Williams should work on in practice tomorrow?

I think defense, w/o question. If they can rebound (box out), steal, and get out and run on the fast break that's when they are at their best IMHO. I've never seen a Heels team give up so many wide open looks as this one. Unfortunately they opened conference play against 3 very good defensive teams in VA, Miami & FSU. Look for FSU to play half court and be physical .... not one of UNC's strong suits.

RE: What is the one thing Coach Williams should work on in practice tomorrow?

Friday at last, whew. No classes today. Tough second half to watch last evening. Carolina just fell to pices after having done reasonably well in the first half. As for practice I would imagine more time spent on using several types of zone defenses, communicating on defense, shooting in general. I did like what I saw from Johnson last night but it is painfully obvious that both he and Hubert are too skinny and the beefy big men for Miami pushed them around on offense and defense. These two guys will need to hit the gym this year and just EAT.

RE: What is the one thing Coach Williams should work on in practice tomorrow?

The sad thing is Reggie Bullock is feeding the ball better than anyone on the team. Brice Johnson needs to start and get as much playing time as possible. He looks good when he is in but needs more experience.

RE: What is the one thing Coach Williams should work on in practice tomorrow?

After viewing the UNC vs Miami game, what should Coach Williams number one emphasis be at the next practice?

I would like this to be a serious discussion, not some smack talking venue. Several of us watching the game had ideas just like we do when we watch State and Duke games. Just wondering what the real fans are thinking?

... he could hand out boxing gloves, after he works their tails off in the weight room.

RE: What is the one thing Coach Williams should work on in practice tomorrow?

I am disappointed with the responses. My breakfast group this morning discussed the topic at length and the first suggestion was to go to a zone defense. That should prevent so many kick outs and open looks. Hope they don't put that into place before the UNC/WolfPack game.

RE: What is the one thing Coach Williams should work on in practice tomorrow?

Sit Desmond Hubert and Strickland down. New starting five should be McAdoo, Paige, Hairston, Johnson, and Bullock. Hubert contributes very little.

RE: What is the one thing Coach Williams should work on in practice tomorrow?

Thought about this for more then a day, wanted to give you a good straight up answer. I must say that the one thing I think he should work on is the job he is doing as a coach. IMHO things would not be as bad as they are if he was coaching the way he should be. Granted the players do not have the same level of talent as they have had in the past, but they do have the talent to be playing much better then they have been. I do not claim to know what goes on at practice or the locker room. As a viewer of the games it appears that the leadership and coaching is not what it should be but it is something that is well with in coachW's control.
