Dook rejects Blair Holliday's application to return...

Dook rejects Blair Holliday's application to return...

wow

wonder if they will be forthcoming with the Lance Thomas investigation

RE: Dook rejects Blair Holliday's application to return...

His doctor at Shepherd Center was 100 percent behind him doing it, but I think Duke maybe feels it is looking out for his best interest, too, to make sure when he does come back he succeeds."When asked about the denial, Duke officials said federal privacy laws prohibit them from discussing the situation.

Duke's looking out for his best interest. Sounds logical to me. I guess you UNC fans aren't used to football players actually having to do the schoolwork to succeed. It's different at other schools.

How is it in the best interest of a student with a GPA of 3.75 to not be allowed to return to school? How is it in Duke's best interest?

RE: Dook rejects Blair Holliday's application to return...

Another expendable dookie kicked to the curb.

(To almost no one's surprise.)

There's just no shame in Durham.

Are you not familiar with the types of injuries involved with Blair Holliday's accident? He is not the same person now as he was prior to the accident.

Why are you bringing up Lance Thomas in a thread about Blair Holliday?

RE: Dook rejects Blair Holliday's application to return...

Maybe he can go learn to fold pastries with Zoubek.

I don't even know if the report is true. But there is a difference between being "the same person" and being able to succeed. That seems to me more a question for his doctors.

The doctor might be able to recommend he attempt to resume a normal life, but is it his decision or Duke's decision whether Holliday has a good chance to be successful doing it at Duke? IMO, the re-application process puts the decision in the hands of the University. Due to privacy laws and the fact that neither of us knows anything about Holliday's current status, I can only assume Duke rejected the application based on something they saw during the re-application process.
