OK. You are about a few months late on this one. I wrote this back in August 2012. Do you think you know more about VT than I do on here DooksucksV3? I doubt it. We lost a truck load of people. I read Jgunn, and and the rest. They don't know any more than you do. You just read the Bleacher Report.

Man. Get a grip. You have already influenced enough people already that don't know jack about Virginia Tech. I know VT. I talk to people from VT here in my County. I had season tickets long before this Sportsfan deal. You don't know the inside track of VT do you? Do you?

Don't come on here and try to sound like you know the deal at VT. I burned 4 years traveling 2 hours one way. 3 in the classroom. That's 7 hours. Don't come on here and even do this like you know the deal. I wrote this during the pre-season. You can influence some. Not me. I wrote this back during the summer. You don't even know Beamer nor VT. Write about UNC, Duke, NC State. You don't know about VT. I'm right.

OK Battling. Glad I caught this one. Logan Thomas was the biggest choke QB in all of Division I last year. He was supposed to be a top 5 NFL draft choice. He didn't do anything. Our FG kicker saved VT in 4-5 games. I put it all on Frank Beamer for not playing Mark Lail. He played Thomas when he didn't deliver. 15 Int's. Ol Frank didn't have the nuttzs to question our OC, nor our dismal play caller in O'Cain. Frank Beamer used to be tough. He is close to Bobby Bowden now. It's time for him to bow out. I truly hate that VT has slipped in both football and basketball. I credit our AD for not doing a damm thing for our basketball program after firing Seth in May. If you are going to fire a coach, fire them when you can hire a decent coach. We lost two solid players after our AD waited so long.

It's time for Beamer to retire after this season. I don't care if we win the ACC Championship. It's time.

Good info., Hokie. Unfortunately, a lot of good coaches seem to hang around until they are shown the door. Better to go out on top versus fading away. Nice tradition & too much pride in the football program for VT to stay down too long.

What team has slipped as far as VT lately? Beamer and our AD should bow out gracifully. Beamer. I would like to tell him one time in person...how he allowed our school to go down this quickly. Beamer and I have talked 3 times since 05 in person. So what? He hasn't done a quality job lately. He's a rich man. Win or go to the damm house. Weaver and Beamer should leave VT after the upcoming season. Beamer is clinging for his job right now. Good. Finally he's feeling some heat.

What team has slipped as far as VT? I'd have to say a lot of them. While only winning 7 games after eight straight seasons of double digit wins is disappointing, it hardly qualifies as grounds for dismissal. We're talking about a guy that has taken his team to 20 consecutive bowls. He has won 70% of his games during that stretch. He has had 13 seasons with 10 or more wins.

How has he done this at a school that has no natural recruiting advantages, competing against both the SEC and ACC for players? One way that has often been cited as one of the main reasons for VT's success is the stability of their coaching staff and Beamer's loyalty to them. Now, all of a sudden, loyalty to assistants is cited as the reason they failed to win 10 games for the first time in nine years.

Maybe it is time for Beamer to retire. But I think I need a little more evidence than a single seven win season to convince me.

^^^Beamer has done a great job. He however has allowed a few of his coaches to slip. He finally hired a new OC this past week. People have been on him for 10 years to replace Steinspring. O'Cain is another. Our OL coach is pretty weak too. I think he is going to James Madison. VT has won a bunch of games under Beamer.

Maybe I was overzealous. I'm glad Thomas is back. My entire premise is that Beamer has allowed 3 coaches to slow this program down. People have been on him for a long time because of these guys. When I heard during the DG show last week that Thomas was announcing his decision, I thought he was going to leave, which would indicate that maybe there was something going on behind closed doors. Since he's decided to stay, maybe Beamer has worked things out with his coaching staff? Hopefully Thomas have a better season next year. Beamer looks like he still has some good years left in him, he's younger than Bowden was when he was forced out, and it doesn't look like the game has passed him by, but that's only my opinion as someone very much on the outside looking in.

Beamer is only 66. All that I have wanted was for him to finally do something with a few coaches. They have obviously put some heat on him to make a move. Beamer has won a bunch of games with pretty strong talent. We slipped a little this year. Our FG kicker saved us in a few games. Good luck to the Heels today. I hope VT can beat the Deacs.
