Since when does the ACC care if State sinks or swims? I hope you're right, and it's a changing of the guard in the conference. But which of the blues are they letting go in lieu of favorable status for State?

i think the acc was trying to protect state and the acc. if state loses it could have been catastrophic for the pack. the acc didn't want state to become this years vt in the ncaa invite.

It's a shame he got those fouls, isn't it?

That was a nice comeback. They couldn't miss, and when they did, they rebounded the miss and put it back in. I was glad the game was only 40 minutes long. State players were completely worn out.

The fact is, State employed a strategy that pretty much reflected much of the pregame analysis. That is to say, if State could neutralize JMM they would have a big edge inside, which would in turn open things up for the outside shooters and penetrators. Well, they did, and they did. They went right after him and Carolina's defense crumbled.

When JMM returned - and he did play significant minutes - he was effective on offense, but he never had much impact on defense. That's something they (Heels) need to fix, and quick. Other teams watch tape in this league.

This thread sounds like ONE BIG EXCUSE to me! State played hard and won the game! Give credit where credit is due and stop with the "what ifs"!

Nice comeback by the Heels to win the second half. To little to late. It's a tough year but we're hanging in there.

I really don't, either. He sat for a few minutes, but maybe that helped him later in the game because he was more well-rested. And Roy DID put him back in the game in the first half, even with the two fouls. He played 25 minutes, and only three players had more minutes than JMM.
