Relax. There's nothing to get upset about.

It happens. Heck, Lowe had a win over Carolina -- and we know how that ended.

I know it's hard to understand how a single 8 point victory against an opponent that has beaten you 19 of the last 21 times is a big deal.

We don't know what that's like.

Did you notice all the former NC State players in the crowd reliving their former glory while former UNC players do big things in the NBA?

This is all they have.

Yeah, we'll catch heat for "talking history" after a loss like this. But that's because a win over UNC would've actually been impressive 4-5 years ago.

Beating a young, unranked Carolina team is something to celebrate for NC State. Let them have it.

North Carolina is still the bar at which college basketball is set.

And although they might not have rushed the court, they did make t-shirts celebrating the win. And that's worse. It's down-right pathetic. If I had a t-shirt commemorating every victory over NCSU I'd need another closet. Carolina has had a great program for a long, long time. And no doubt that they are a standard that many teams try to measure to. But Heel fans need to understand that this year aint it and UNC will be fortunate to make the NCAA. It is hard to understand the peaks and valleys that this program has had over the last decade and the one-and-done of college basketball has had some effect. However, other schools have avoided those peaks and valleys even with the one-and-done. But i would agree, if you can't win this year, talk about history - there are some tar heel fans that will certainly listen.

in 10 years from now, State will be making the same claim. they've made it before, Everette Case caused many a tar hole fan nightmare.

it will have become, OLD HAT. it took unc about 10 years to distance itself from State, along with Duke, back in the early 90's, then they sustained it another 10. The Pack has the younger coach now, with p*ss and vinegar running through his veins.... and, he can recruit. that's what is really scaring the pansies, for they know, that withOUT the best talent, their coach is scr*wed!... I hope roy coaches another 10 years, while I much prefer, that K retires sooner.

I'm an NC State fan. The t-shirt is really lame. Good luck the rest of the season UNC'ers. I hope you guys make the NCAA's as long as you don't beat State in the process. I would like to see the ACC return to its former glory. State and UNC have talent coming in the next 2 years. Should be interesting.

The difference, and what you Heels need to understand, is there was a VERY big difference between this game and Sid's win in 2007. Sid won in a MONUMENTAL upset. This was no upset. This was because of recruiting and hard work. State won with more talent, and was EXPECTED to win.

We won't win them all. We certainly won't beat Carolina 13 games in a row. But what you all need to realize, is this is a different State program now. We no longer have bad coaches, ADs and chancellors tolerating mediocrity. We have re-joined the party. We will win some, and we will lose some. But from this point forward, State is not the sure win you used to mark on your schedule.

It's a new era, folks. There are more than two in this party now. And the way recruiting is going, you can expect it to continue going forward.

The T-shirt idea is just someone using the win to make money. Some people use ANY excuse to take money from someone else. It's The American Way. :)
