You know North Carolina isn't North Carolina when Jackson Simmons is called upon to try and defend NC State's Richard Howell. I thought the Tar Heels were making progress, but this team is what it is: Mediocre. How about a play-in game in Dayton between the two teams that should have played for the national title a year ago: Kentucky and UNC. It could happen. There's a laundry list of issues in Chapel Hill and I'll have more on this in this space soon. If this were an NBA team, Roy Williams might blow it up. It'll be interesting to see if James Michael McAdoo returns for one more season or leaves after this season. He's still a first-rounder and maybe even a lottery pick. The one guy I really like is freshman forward Brice Johnson. He showed some fight against a veteran NC State frontline -- and will be a major factor next season after he bulks up a bit.

While we`re not a great team, nor i`d say a very good team, Placing us
as mediocre because of a loss at state is ridiculous... Wonder what the article would say if we beat state and duke at the dome???

LOL, the pansies SURE KNEW WHO goodman was, when he was bad mouthing the State coaching job... alas, now he's transfixed on pastel pansy U, and.... well.... ^^^just look at the carnage it's caused their panties.

Potential

I see potential in this team. There's still a lot of basketball to be played, and there's been improvement in this team. If Carolina is "mediocre", how did they get within FIVE points of what's supposed to be a very good State team (and, yes, I do think State is very good) - AT State - when they were down by 28? I'd like to know what Goodman thinks about State after that comeback by Carolina.

It is what it is: Goodman "learning 13 things over a 31-hour span". Sorry, Jeff, but the basketball season is a lot longer than 31 hours. Wonder what he would have said after Duke's loss to Miami if that was in his 31-hour time line.
