UNC: last 8 seasons...6 progressions to Elite 8 or better

rather startling, when you think about it.

Yes, I believe that 2-4 seeds in the tourney are basically toss ups. A 4 is usually a quality win or one less loss away from either a 3 or a 2 seed. I think that #5-#16(overall-not seeds) have about the same chance of winning the dance year in and year out. 4 seeds, however, do get stuck with that dreaded 12 seed game in which the 12 seed is usually a decent team, but I really do think that 2/15 and 3/14 are washes.

I also agree with you that neither one of those teams deserved the seeds they got in those tourneys.

    Mehh...

Weber State loses in the next round in OT to a tough Florida team (6-seed).

Lehigh loses in the next round by 12 to a so-so Xavier team (10-seed).

All signs point to dook being the more embarrassing flameout, by far.

Sports Illustrated disagrees with you, and I take their word over yours:

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2012/writers/ted_keith/03/17/lehigh.upsets.duke/index.htmlSooner or later, it seems, the Madness always arrives, and when it does it tends to do so, like famous deaths, in multiples. On Friday night, death came early for three of the game's most famous teams: Missouri (knocked out by Norfolk State), Michigan, a four-seed in the Midwest that was dumped by Ohio out in Nashville, and, of course, Duke.

Of that trio, none can match the Blue Devils' cachet, making their demise by far the most stunning. Missouri has never been to a Final Four, and Michigan hasn't even made the Sweet 16 in this century. Duke, meanwhile, is as much a part of March as the tournament itself. The Blue Devils have reached the Sweet 16 in 11 of the past 13 years, advancing to four Final Fours in that time and winning two national titles.

plenty of ways to spin that. There was hardly the parity in college basketball in 1999 as there was last year.

No way to spin a #2 seed loss as equally embarrassing as a #3 seed loss...

especially when you have the best X's & O's coach in the game today.

(lol...on second-hand, that X's and O's thing is just opinion)

the point is that both the Weber State and Lehigh losses were equally as embarrassing. Not once have I mentioned anything about who is the best program. Carolina has more wins and titles than Duke, and I have never disputed that fact. I use numbers, but your boys on here use opinions.

    explanation: We sucked those years

Trying to figure your point in all this? Are you trying to suggest that Duke is a better program than UNC?

    If so, by what measure?

Games won?...no that can't be it....National Championships won? NO not that either...

You guys hang you hat on your coach...you should. In my opinion he's the best that has ever stepped on the hardwood....

    Be happy with that.

But don't go trying to say that Duke is a better program than Carolina....sorry cuz, but that aint going to fly...not by anyone outside of the Duke persuasion.
