Only an idiot would think Dean was not a good coach, especially since he dominated K head to head.
K inherited a program that had just been to the national title game two years before.

Exhibit A doesn't seem to know that the rat inherited a team that had made it to the elite 8 the previous year and was just 2 years removed from appearing in the title game. It's not like he had to start from scratch.

So. Now more teams get in.
So what you are really saying is that DES, with his NYC recruiting pipeline wasnt that good of a coach.

    I agree.
Plus,K wasnt the coach then and my point was that DES had built a reputation and had a recruiting pipeline and an establish program and K was new and starting his career. You UNCheat fans act like they were on equal footing those first few years when K was at Duke and always go back to the head to head. But as long as it makes you feel better.

K had one title against a mid major and using a paid player.

K had one title because a bookie named Richie "The Fixer" Perry saw a money making opportunity by allowing a team UNLV destroyed by 30 the year prior to lose and hand K his first title:

http://www.reviewjournal.com/business/blackbook/perry.clip1.htmlK wins another title because Laettner was not ejected for stomping on a Kentucky player:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6AwYVTB2rZwLaettner has followed a Dook tradition by swindling millions of dollars and getting sued by everyone.

In conclusion, UNC's title picture and achievements are much more impressive than those of K.

    The numbers do not lie.

Based on what? Carolina owns the overall and the series is close if not tied since k has been there.

Wouldn't this mean then that Dean and Carolina owned K since they were even at 2 championships each but head to head wasn't even close!
Also, wouldn't it mean that Roy and Carolina own K since Roy has 2 championships since back at Carolina to K's 1?

Lets face it, if you break down the numbers the majority of K's success was while UNC was in transition between the Smith and Williams years. Not impressed!

Speaking of No. 1, did anyone else see the spotlight ESPN did Saturday morning re UNC's Championship game in 1957? At the end of the story, they made the statement that after 3 overtimes, Carolina won it's FIRST National Championship. Not trying to stir a pot, just thought that was odd they said that.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NCAA_Men%27s_Division_I_Basketball_ChampionshipTwo #1 seeds making it to the championship game

    Has happened six times:

    1982 North Carolina defeated Georgetown
    1993 North Carolina defeated Michigan
    1999 Connecticut defeated Duke
    2005 North Carolina defeated Illinois
    2007 Florida defeated Ohio State
    2008 Kansas defeated Memphis

I guess that is more impressive than using illegally paid players, having the other team taking a dive or playing a mid major.
