    even with the injury.

(his 23 pts and 5 rbs led the team over Nova)

TJ was awesome today. So great to see the Heels surpassing both dook and state college and being the ACC Runner-Up 2013.

As far as Paula's comment, I sort of agree with her..and am looking forward to the "Bucky Stomp" coming down on Bucky's widdle footie when teams play D against dook. We'll see how tough he is won't we.

    Should be fun.

kato will exercise a one-time exception and respond to paula/dipnip/fookie dan/sprocket boy/hsot creep:

    1) Your hand-slapping comment shows what you are made of...chickenscratch.

    2) PJ played 35 TOUGH minutes, contributing 28 points (matching the output of the ACCT MVP).

    Carry on.

Bullock is much more than a mediocre player....he just isn't flashy like TJ Harrison.

Reggie, i would postulate, is the next most valuable after "the cancer" of our team.

I mean he had 12 rebounds..last night...A Len had 7. He's been having double doubles in this win streak.

He's nailing threes, and saluting to the rival fans on the way back down court.
He's dribbling behind his back on sweet moves down the lane.
He's taking it to the rack in the face of much larger players.
    He's making nice assists.(Paige)
He's diving out of bounds for loose balls.
He's hustling for rebounds like a beast.

    Its official:

This is YOUR team, T.J.And dook has no one that can stop you.

Hairston is a good player, and now that Roy is starting him, the Heels have improved. While not the best player on the team, Paige has improved in leaps and bounds. He doesn't have the speed of Felton or Lawson, but he's smart, and I think he'll be a huge asset to Carolina.

I don't understand all the hype around McAdoo, maybe it's his name. He's a good guy, but not the best player, not by a long shot (literally!)

  • Tizu Feb 25, 2013

He is by far UNCs best player. If he doesn't play well, UNC just isn't that good. mediocre at best. Hairston is a very good player...but he's really all UNC has that's what I would consider "good". Bullock is average and streaky. MacAflop is just average.

I'd take Hairston any day of the week. The kid can play. I can't hate him. He's a good player. I just hate that he plays for the wrong team.

Roy Williams left Chapel Hill from 1973-78 to be the head coach at Asheville's Owen High School. We all need to take this moment to be extraordinarily grateful that he chose to take that job, because otherwise there's a decent chance he might not still be with us today.

It was during that stretch, you see, that NC State reeled off nine wins in a row against the Tar Heels, a figure that equals the sum total of Wolfpack victories in the series since the day P.J. Hairston was born on Dec. 24, 1992

  • Lux Libertas Feb 17, 2013

In order to be Saturday's headliner, all P.J. Hairston had to do was outshine a ceremony honoring the jersey of the only Academic All-America of the year in school history, the Patterson Medal (the most prestigious award Carolina gives to a senior student-athlete), two players among the NCAA's 75 top players in NCAA Tournament history, four recent NBA draft picks (each of whom prompted thunderous applause when they walked through the Smith Center tunnel) and a halftime presentation to two of the six living individuals on planet Earth with a retired University of North Carolina basketball jersey.

Tyler Zeller saw his jersey in the rafters. Zeller and field hockey star Katelyn Falgowski accepted the Patterson Medal. Lennie Rosenbluth and Tyler Hansbrough were recognized for their selection as two of the best players in the 75-year history of the NCAA Tournament. John Henson and Kendall Marshall watched from behind the Tar Heel bench.

In sum, the Smith Center had more star power than the Morehead Planetarium. And somehow, still, it was Hairston's day.
