UNC also has the distinction of being the only team to take 7 mcdonald all americans to the nit. A very tough accomplishment in itself.KEEP THUMPING THAT CHEST FELLAS.

The key word here is "program", and because of that qualifying word, I'd have to give the nod to Carolina and Duke. Both are storied programs with HOF coaches, their rivalry is known on a national level, they've had some of the best players and highest winning percentages. Other programs, like State for instance, have had terrific years and players, but to date haven't had sustained success over a long period of time.

Both programs have carried the ACC for the most part all-time! I wish all the other fans of these two schools understood that as well.

Unc historically has been excellent, as has duke. Both programs seem to feed off one anothers success and it has benefited the acc greatly.

    LMAO! Arrogance "The Carolina Way"

  • larrys080 .v1 Jan 30, 2013
    Sports Legend

The biggest difference between Duke and Carolina fans is simple:

Duke fans are constantly having to build the program up and share every little detail of current players, stats or former players if they have a good night! One coach gets all the credit and is bigger than the program. Everyday this is the theme!

Carolina fans rarely have to do that because we know overall the numbers don't lie! At the college level the program overall is on top, the pro level isn't even close and more than one coach gets credit for the success!

Most Duke fans are young and don't completely understand the game and the wonderful history behind it. And before someone says Carolina fans live in the past which has always been a lie remember that Carolina has won 2/3 between the two schools!

The NCAA says no basketball players were involved and thats the final word! They might have been the victims and deprived of the education they deserved but thats it! Those poor kids worked extra hard without the leadership of a quality instructor. So sad!

At least you are honest which makes it easier to hold a reasonable conversation! 903 and other young Duke fans don't respect the history because it doesn't benefit them. In their opinion before K basketball didn't exists and no records count.
The truth is you see it the way I do! Two great programs that we are lucky to have but getting provoked by 903 due to his lack of knowledge brings out the worst in many and ruins the game.

    Duke - 4 NTs

    UNC - 17 ACC titles
    Duke - 19 ACC titles

UNC - 29 reg season titles
Duke - 19 reg season titles

    UNC - 18 Final Fours
    Duke - 15 Final Fours

You are one of the most amusing posters on here.

You lose all objectivity when UNCheat is brought up.

When you only investigate what the criminal wants you to investigate you will never find the evidence. That is what Martin did.

Interesting, so changing grades for athletes is not an NCAA infraction? Who knew. Because that has been admitted.

And on top of that and we all know this is the case, the grades were changed to keep athletes eligible.

Well, at least, logical, sensible people realize this.

    Guess the NCAA doesnt care.

  • BlueDevils00 Jan 30, 2013

Dude, the NCAA has already stated that they don't care. The Martin Report and an independent auditor have confirmed that there were no NCAA violations. There is only one investigation left, the SBI investigation, and that isn't even looking into the athletic department. Face it, it is over. There are no more investigations...it is done. Get over it.

No, they said it was an academic problem (without any basis for concluding that, btw), not an athletic problem, because non-athletes were also involved. They never said athletes were not involved.

But like I said, this is probably at least a year or two from being over, as much as you'd like to think otherwise.

As long as they eventually get it right in the end, and justice is eventually served, I really don't care how long it takes. The longer, the better.

According to Governor Martin's report, and an outside academic auditor, there was no cheating by anyone within the athletic department that hasn't been sanctioned already by the NCAA. So sorry for you, TBK.

The NCAA doesn't like to comment on active investigations, and K has stated that he won't comment because he doesn't want to interfere.

I'm sure once the investigation has concluded they'll let us know. These things take time, paula...they want to be very thorough.

Key word being "caught". And it's not even true. Carolina basketball players have been caught cheating. They just haven't been punished for it (yet). But, as always, it's not over yet.

Nice link. Only mentions that K said Duke spoke to the NCAA and cooperated.

Does not say one word about not being done with Duke. I would have thought that if the NCAA was still investigating you UNCheat fans would provide weekly if not daily updates on the progress.

Nice try, but very lame and weak. Much like the majority of your arguments.
