UNC and UK still on the bubble?

Last time UNC was on the bubble (just a mere 3 years ago), that bubble popped. But hey, at least they lost to Dayton in NIT final.
This year, UNC wins the NIT!

I love your reading comprehension skills. There may be one State fan that has posted on this thread, but the majority are Duke and UNC fans. The question originated by an article on ESPN, and was posted here to discuss and to have a little smack talk to go with it. Think about that, my friend.
Anyway, another W last night that was supposed to be a W. I wouldn't start getting excited until UNC beats one that they aren't supposed to beat. They looked pretty good last night, though.

I love all the NCSU posters talking about UNC being on the bubble. UNC has a down year every 4 or 5 and we are on the bubble. I know you state jokes would love to have been on the bubble a few more times the past 30 years. Enjoy your fun and remember we have down years and NCSU has down decades. Think about it my friend.

UNC is quickly getting off any imaginary "bubble" and with a few good wins coming up will be a solid seed in the tournament.
Sadly for Dookies, they will probably still go deeper in the NCAA's than Dook will.

Yes UNC is still on the bubble. UK look solid, though. UNC can still make a run in the NIT.

I agree, there's still plenty of time left for both these teams to prove they deserve inclusion or continue showing they don't belong in. Like Bilas says every year, it's about who you played and who you beat. UNC by selection committee time will have no problem with the 'who they played' with 6 games against state, duke and miami. But they need to go at least 2-4 against them and right now, they're at 0-2. The margin for error is paper thin for both UK and UNC.

If we're shopping for rating services, Jeff Sagarin has UK at #17 and Carolina at #27 - both comfortably in. But basketball isn't like the BCS and it's silly six-poll computer ranking. I think the eyeball test will prevail. And there are really two different eyeball tests - how competitive do the teams look when playing quality opponents is one. The other is how many eyeballs want to watch them in March. I'm cynical enough to believe that is a factor in selections.
Both schools have the same problem. There are only three schools ranked ahead of them in their own conferences. They both have enough talent to belong in the field. They just need more consistency. Roy Williams had it right when he said his team has had enough time for learning. Now it's time for winning.

But UK beat Ole Miss at Ole Miss. UNC doesn't have any wins close to that one. And won't get one unless they beat Miami at Miami (LOL) or either Duke game.
And on kenpom, UK is at #19 and UNC is at #46. So UK must be doing something right.
